Such a stellar collect of sounds - I have major Gas for the Nemesis Delay. Curious to know what your thoughts are on Op Amp Big Muff
Thanks! :)

Yeah, as much as I like to think I need a ton of pedals at my feet, I probably just don't have the creativity or talent to make good use of something that's not a dirt pedal, a delay, or a no frills modulation pedal. Less option anxiety, less shit that can break, less impedance/noise/power/whatever issues to worry about. Not to mension my big board weighs a ton, and barely fits in my car when I've also got my half stack and two guitars with me.

The Op Amp muff kinda fits the same"less is more approach" I guess. The love/hate thing I had with muffs was mainly about trying to make the muff do stuff it's not made for (i.e. cutting through a mix, and sounding open and clear and super gainy at the same time). So after trying half a dozen or so boutique/vintage muffs, I made my peace with the big muff and found out I don't even need a full eq or "pre-gain" control or any other bells and wistles. Op Amp, Triangle, Ram's head, Russian...that whole line of ehx "reissues" is ligit imo. The Op Amp version with the gain dimed and the tone switched off just stuck out for me. Classic muff tones, but without the ice picky grainy character of the NYC version or the overbearing boomyness of a Sovtek muff. Also sounds awesome with the gain at around 2 o'clock, with a more bass heavy overdrive behind it.

Really impressed with the Nemesis. My main worry was that the user interface and the Neuro app would be too complicated and intimidating. I was a bit suspicious, a pedal so small with that many sounds and parameters...Just seemed too good to be true, it HAD to be a nightmare to tweak and save presets. But it's surprisingly intiutive to mess with, and the different sounds just ticked all my VERY particular boxes, stuff I'd otherwhise need 5 seperate delay pedals for. Tap tempo, Purty reverse, convincing tape/bbd emulation with lotsa tone tweaking options, clear digital delay, sweep delay similar to that of the DL4, a non-cheesy shimmer'ish type mode,...And the filter took me by surprise. Somehow missed that when watching demos and reading reviews. Love the fixed wah type setting. Sooner or later I'll hook up an expression pedal and see how that works out. Filter + expression pedal is as close as I'll ever come to really liking wah, it's like the less douchy/campy/dadrock version of wah imo :p

Avoid it if you need a looper mode, or a p&w type of shimmer mode. Don't know how the Nemesis compares to a Timeline, Time Factor, DD500, Echo System,...But I kinda had to rule those out based in price and size.
My same feelings on Muff bases tones - I heard this muff type once and I might pick it up, when I am at that point of buying gear.

Love the input on the Nemesis - its hard not to mega gas when you watch hours of demos online. then again the 300 - 400 dollar price tag on some of those units kills that gas

After the 2-3 month playing with that mini setup, I went back to my usual sized board.

Meatbox arrived from the USA, the land of cursed mail.....

Initial signal chain is Randy's Revenge - Meatbox - Rat - HMD-1 - Super Fuzz - DD7

I've been playing bass in a doom/stoner band for about a month and wanted a compact board so I've been using this little board that used to be my dads camera case, but it sucks. It's too friggin' small! I'll probably either get a soft case pedaltrain or go back to my slightly bigger board with the hardcase..... or get a smaller power supply! Who knows what crazy thing I'll do next?

Also some pedals just don't fit that I don't "need" but I "like" a lot..... :shug emoji:

And I do not care for how the Randy is sideways! I've got a lot of problems with this board!

This is similar to the bass board I am trying to build now. Awesome selection - I really like how that FZ-2 clone sounds on bass, been going back and forth between buying that and a keely ecco or an MBD2 and a cheaper delay for now.

:!!!:

I like the Super Fuzz so much. It’s just become a constant staple on my board. $40 new and its the sickest sounding fuzz. I no longer lust after an FZ-2 for $400.... and I picked up a Dungeon Master which is great but this meets all my needs.....

maybe you could tuck away the pedal power underneath it somehow? that'd free some up.
This. Move that thing downstairs, add another pedlol, turn Randy the right way :)

Add a guest room. Remodel the gazebo. You’ll be hosting weddings at your new bed and breakfast before you know it.

Oh wait. Wrong forum.

this is so nice to see. that death metal and hm-2 being relegated off board is tough to see though  :joy:

Much as I love the FX86 I don’t have much use for it in my current band

And I really like the HM-2 AND the HMD-1 but the HMD-1 wins exclusively for the top mounted jacks on this tiny board. I’ll probably go back to my bigger board or get something I can mount the power underneath, this is just a piece of plywood I cut to fit in a case so no room underneath.....

Replaced my Ditto X2 with a Ditto mini (still kept the Ditto X2 just in case) and shifted some stuff around to fit the Limbo III which is great! :yay:
I really like the rhythmic qualities of the arp mode and the modulation on the envelope mode but I do miss being able to play with the delay knob the way I can with the Malekko.
I also can't decide on the order between the Bitquest and the CT5. I like being able to run different effects into the CT5 looping mode but running the loops into the BQ and just turning knobs is also super fun...
Also thinking of replacing the holy grail with some other reverb (maybe hof 2 mini?) but I think I am just fed up with its scratchy pot that probably just needs cleaning.

Got a tiny isolated powersupply and am now running this. I think the RV-2 will give way for something else but for now I am happily rocking this until I get all my proper gear back
