Finally some decent headphones (so I hope): AKG K271 MKII

My old trusty AKG K45 died last week. I had it for 15 years or so. Not bad for such a cheap unit. Sadly, the modern AKG models in the same price class have muddy and bassy sound that I don't like. I hope the K271 MKII has the rather neutral sound in good quality I'm looking for.

Incoming: Basic Audio Fuzz Mutant at the behest of Raj. Thought I would be getting a buzzin sound or a duplex, but the price on the mutant was too good to pass up....

And then a buddy needed to sell some stuff to pay for a pedal, so... Incoming Basic Audio Kay Fuzz as well. Mostly to pair with the Kay Trem.

just not for me.

SoftPoppper sounds GOOD though.
I guess they don't bug me too much. On the BitRanger I struggled a little at the beginning but quickly got the hang of it. Bonus: the SoftPop works just fine as is, no patching required. Peter set it up internally to a basic setting he thinks sounds good. But you can either overide it with the semi-modular external patching or there are switches under the hood to take it further towards a fully modular setup.

Long story short:
Sold my JCM800 bass to get a tube slave but having issues with my main head and a tour to Canada approaching I decided to throw down and buy a head I won’t have to worry about instead of paying for repairs...
So today I ordered one of those Mesa Prodigy 4:88 heads on reverb !!!!
Stoked to try this thing out

I've had the Bass Prodigy since it came out. Had several issues (because Mesa crammed so much in a tight space) but nothing else sounds like it. I absolutely love it. It's my tone. I can't imagine not having a Mesa.

How does it like heavy fuzz? Luckily I got it as a customer return from an actual store so it was cheap but comes with full warranty.

Is that an Os Mutantes fuzz? I had a Fredric mutant a while back that was really awesome. It was almost like halfway between a Ventures-esque can of bees and a more modern Mastotron kinda thing if I remember correctly

Ok, so I went a little crazy this week. Bought TWO vintage guits.

A ‘62 refin - recent refretted with vintage correct wire, two non-original tuners -

And this ‘74, all OG except one pickup screw-

I am one happy guitar nerd. Just super hoping they will both play as well as purported.
Maybe partying will help.
