Dude I want to love a pitch shifter so bad but I can't make shit sound like he does. I can't find one that tracks like I want and doesn't overpower my signal. I know he uses a lot of boss shifters but I always assumed they were warbly

Everything Nick does is Boss PS5/PS6 stuff though. Not as much on YWGWYW but almost 100% of the self-titled tricks are Boss PS5 or OC2.

Does the PS5 track that well without warble? That's what I love about his pitch shift tone, it doesn't come off as overly digital, or the rest of the mix dampens that sound a bit

He's not using static pitch shift. He uses the trem arm setting to get pitch drops and raises. Listen to The Hit off self-titled. Starting about 30 seconds in you get to the verse and all those sounds are hitting the PS5 on a note and letting it drop and then hammering another note a bunch as he lets off the pedal the the pitch comes back up.

Any static pitch shift is either a POG adding octaves or an OC2 for all those super low sections where all the guitar drops down. That's usually just quick bursts though.

PS-5 tracks fine. And I have serious rack harmonizer stuff to compare to. The flutter and ”trem arm” stuff can do lovely ILF-appropriate warble if you want, which is a lot of why I keep it. Or you can set the intelligent mode to the wrong key to have it do a “Wait—what??” warble if you like.

So does it warble? If you ask nicely, yes.

Man I used to love the PS-5 when I had it. Time to rebuyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Probably gonna get a pignose first. I need a good practice amp for in the house plus i wanna run it as a preamp for fun.

Got myself an Alexander F.13 Neo & Space Race... on order since January.

Apparently there's an issue getting new stock to the UK and it's damn near killing me waiting now.

Congrats. Definitely interested in hearing more when it arrives. :hello:

I just pulled the trigger on an affordable, second-hand Zvex Machine, which will likely unleash a whole other layer of stank with various bitcrushers, octave fuzzes, and the like.
