Covering classics from the 80ies was a thing for nu-metal-related bands (or, more generally, for "alternative" bands in the late 90s, early 00s - Manson, Limp Bizkit, Korn..and so on). They could have their own thread - but please don't.
Korn rendition of Word Up is another awful song, but i don't like the original too
Limp Bizkit's cover of The Who is so absolutely fundamentally atrociously godawful that I can't even. I remember being a kid when it came out, and everyone around me thought it was just soooo good; they downloaded the original on limewire by a mistake and made fun of how old, lame, and "gay" it was, compared to the amazing Limp Bizkit version. The nu metal years—what a time to be alive.
i didn't know there was an original at first so I thought it was pretty good coming from limp bizkit
several years later i heard the original and holy shit, it's so much better
My god, i totally removed that cover from my mind, but as soon as i read this it instantly popped in my mind that terrible DJ-ing part that comes up instad of the bridge of the original one
Now i feel obliged to remind you all that they also covered Faith from Wham!
Also Disturbed covering Shout from Tears for Fears is another thing i'd happily remove from my ears.

Some geezer named Vince Wallace covering Deep Purple covering It's A Beautiful Day covering Orkustra covering Vince Wallace. Can't even get the tune right, smh. Come on, Vince.

Although I like the song, the singer of badwolves seems to be channeling some
serious Dylan constipation/teeth clenched singing in the verse during their cover of 'Zombie'

This is pretty bad.
Has literally nothing that made the original, or Korn, good.
Also pre-emptively, shut up. The first two Korn albums were pretty damn unimpeachable back in the day, and they have got their fair share of bangers spread throughout their catalogue.
