@goroth, the Clang does pretty well almost anywhere on the board IMO....I like running it first into other dirt, personally. It follows after a ring mod or an octave pedal super well, too. Since posting this a couple months ago, i've been running it second in chain, after a green ringer, and then into either a Black Spiral or into my Black Forest OD.

I have the Allora fuzz and it's amazing! I lot of sweet spots, can do anything from low gain up to wall-of-sound fuzz disintegration!
I'm so amazed by Spiral Electric I'm considering also their Black Spiral Fuzz.... but since BSRI Audio came out with the TFZ... I don't know which one to get

@gila, i picked up a black spiral in october and haven't had time to follow up. i love it....in some ways it can sound a little thin, doesn't have a ton of bass, but if you run it into either a dirty amp or a preamp/drive pedal, it kills. i never had a Carcosa so this is a big first for me, never played anything like a maestro fuzz before. i gotta try an allora some day.

Very cool! In the end I asked Tom, if he could build me a Black Spiral with more gain and low-end and a lo-cut switch. He told me everything is doable and would start to work on it, but I'm still waiting an update from his side.

Last week i had the chance to crank the big amps at deafening volumes after months, and i just wanted to chime in saying that the EAE Longsword is even more awesome in front of a loud tube amp. In no-diodes mode it's a gnarly overdrive with a surprisingly open and dynamic freq response considering the opamp nature of the circuit. Never went above 12 o'clock with the volume on the pedal, it can definitely be deafening loud, and push even high headroom amps into breakup.
I'm constantly surprised by the tweakability of this pedal, even more considered that initially I was kinda unimpressed and had a hard time learning my way through it.
