This one is quite good, though it requires more accurate playing than I thought. But the octave up mode sucks big time. The sound is a joke. The pedal is going back.

I am a sheeple who is easily swayed by mass marketing campaigns, so I bought a Werkstatt:

It was not even a little bit challenging to build, but it was still enjoyable. I managed to build most of it using my Swiss Army Knife, but had to get a proper screwdriver for the top screws as I was afraid to scratch the case.
I owned one of these awhile ago, but it didn't really fit in my whole setup as I mostly had euro stuff at the time. It fits in a lot better now as a little mini expander for my Matriarch. I'm happy to have one again. Here's some drones:

Edit: oh, I also have an AFX Station on the way too.

Out: SVT-II Pro
In: SVT-II
An original SVT-II appeared on Reverb within the last week. And a friend already offered to buy my II-Pro if/when I decided to sell it. So I pulled the trigger just now and I'm having a friend pick it up and hold it for me till I can get down to LA/OC

I want one pretty bad. Eager to hear your thoughts on the experience and end product.
Edit - read your post beyond the picture and got my answers. Does it do more than just a drone?

It can definitely do more than just drones; it's a full subtractive synth voice. It is very simple, but it has the Moog sound and can be pushed surprisingly far, especially with some self patching. It would benefit from having a sequencer of some sort and maybe a keyboard with CV out (like a Keystep). I did some experimenting with using the Matriarch keyboard and arpeggiator to control it and both worked great; really cool to send it an arp and then to transpose the arp with the little buttons. I bought mine specifically to add some more modulation options and another oscillator to my Matriarch; it definitely works very well in that regard.
I like these demos that show some of the different sides of it:

Oh good, it's not just me

I got one a couple of days ago, tracks fine and poly mode works fine but the actual tone is bloody awful. I keep tweaking but cannot get a good sound out of it.

Love this one, the ring mod with envelope function paired with a good fuzz makes some amazing sounds.

I can relate to stress purchases in a big way. It's like anything to keep away from the news.
