Got a mooer babybomb today. Will probably use it with my hilbish beta preamp when I receive it. Maybe I'm an idiot and didn't understand thecpurpose of this power amp but it works fine when I plug my guitar directly into it (and then into a speaker) but it gets pretty noisy (squeals) when I put it in the fx loop of an amp and then into a speaker.... Don't worry the amp in question is still attached to a speaker. But yeah that's weird I thought I could use it with the preamp section of one of my combo

I'm wanting to make this same move.

I did that with my Ct5 as well. It was worth it but sometimes I regret not having kept both... :(

The Nightly firmware seems really cool, so the thought of having both versions has crossed my mind. But I feel like I should be more proficient at the classic style firmware before diving further in with the second pedal. I guess the overall operating gestalt should be similar enough, though?

Wait what? I'm shopping for a tensor too, had no idea about this. What serial number should I be looking for, when did they starting making the current version? :?:

"Tensors built since early 2019 (S/N 67000+)"

Cheers!

Also: how hard will I want an expression pedlol or remote foot switch? My current board has zero free space, and the other unused board&case I’ve got laying around is way too big, even IF I go on a shopping spree with monies I don’t have :/

I assume these have been revised to current Boss manufacturing. Excited to hear any differences to older DS-2.
Someone recently told me these are very similar to the Dirt in the DF-2 Super Distortion Feedbacker which I also own and love.
I think I want to be a Turbo Lover

Turbo quoting myself!

I love this DS-2! It sounds so compressed and artificial, like Ministry Psalm 69 album. Has that really good picking palm muting feel, you know?

I haven't opened it up to see how tiny this revision board is. It is very high quality, no noise but it feedbacks easily. Made in Taiwan but feels a bit higher quality than the Tera Echo I also bought this year. Pots feel much better than the Tera Echo. First Boss pedal I've bought in a while where the foot press part of the pedal and the control label plate haven't been a little off square. I've felt like quality has dropped off the last 5 years or so but this Boss is like the old Boss.

My friend has been kicking around a beat up DS2 since around 2000 so it's really neat to have this one that just rolled out of the factory. I was really surprised they were still making these. It even smells good -nice and rubbery.

it's not "necessary", i play all the time without it, but the remote switch really helps if you want to mangle loops live without having to stop playing and bend down on the board everytime. It' super easy to build (i did and my skills are ZERO, now it's laying around my desk since months cause i don't have an enclosure for it), and you can always plug it in only when you need it.

you can also place the expression pedal or foot controller adjacent to the actual board like i do with my EB volume pedal, which would eat up fully 1/4 of my medium-sized board. a multi-switch foot controller is probably about as heavy as your board. a 15 or 20-pound controller ain't going anywhere unless you pick it up and chuck it across the stage as if you were Mark E. Smith on a serious Pils/pills run during one of the more disastrous shows on the Cerebral Caustic tour.

Yup, that' what i'd do. That remote switch doesn't even need power to work (unless you place LEDs on it), so you just have to plug in the TRS cable and that's it.
