i just saw this yesterday...i use the Boss tuner app on my iPhone, which has a notifications feed with Boss hype. i'd love to know if the guitar aspect is worth a damn. as i recall the Roland guitar controller wasn't wonderful as a guitar; Robert Fripp said it left a lot to be desired, but used it anyway because i guess it was really good as a controller.

The guitar part is likely to be solid, but tastes vary so not everyone will adore it. What seems questionable is marketing a limited version of current SY tech in a guitar without a hex pickup. So $2200 for a guitar you may not like with a nerfed SY-300 or sorta upgraded SY-1 built in, instead of a guitar with out-of-the-box hex integration and the power and flexibility of an SY-1000. Oh, and iOS app dependent, so you better hope Boss keeps up with the OS upgrades or keep a non-upgraded device around.

Frankly, I’m more interested in the MIDI expression pedal with Bluetooth that is being released as a complement to the guitar. No standard expression functionality, but I already have six pedals that do that. Not cheap but reasonable for its functionality and the fact that it’s a unique product at the moment.

If it's not a remake of the Moog guitar I'm not even looking.
