Here's my JCM2000 and my beat to shit Orange 2x12. A friend owned the Orange for a while and wrote his favorite Listener quote on it, and wasn't able to get it off when he sold it back to me. I don't mind though, it reminds me of him. The tolex on my amp started coming off when I was on tour with my old band so I just peeled it all of with the intention of retolexing or staining it and I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I do like the super ugly black grime look though!

leave it, it looks awesome like that especially with the cab.

You should paint your head orange and take off the badge. :idk:

If I would redo the colors, it would be blue or purple or green. I'm not crazy about non-Orange orange amps. Aside from Matamps of course.

Dude...

I used to have the exact same amp, also from '74' :)

I bought and sold more amps than I can remember during the last 20 years, and if I was forced to make a top 3, the Superbass would easily win the silver medal. I had the second channel modded to SLP specs though, bacily giving me one more bassy channel, and one really sounding nice plexi channel. The real magic happened when patching both channels...I HIGHLY recommend that little mod, I still wish I had that amp around. Sounded so good it's not even funny anymore.

Had to sell it cause I could afford three different amps for all my bands/projects/situations, so I was kinda forced to replace the Marshall stack with something more...convenient :idk:

That was my only little gripe I guess: It's obviously WAY too loud for home use, and even at rehearsels you need a good attenuator and very loud band mates. At low volumes it didn't sound all that special imo, but damn...With the volume past halfway the thing is a fire breading monster, I get a boner just thinking about it

Is that a regular 1960 cab by the way? Plan on maybe trying different speakers? I'm not a speaker snob at all, but you don't want to put $90 tires on a porche either, right? ;) If you get a chance of trying some old Fanes, or G12H-30's, don't hessitate.

My last and most important whise-ass advice though: Don't ever sell it.

...To anyone but me :p

thanks for the advice mate...the great thing with this is that it has PPIMV, so even at home volumes i can get really nice tones out of it. On the speakers...yeah its standard 1960 cab...i plan on changing it. But i'll do that when I move to Australia, as I won't be taking the cab back with me. Hoping to get a custom cab made up, but will keep those speakers in mind.

I always thought I would get a mat amp before I move back to Aus...but since having this amp, I don't really see the need anymore...this thing is everything i want and more...i can't see myself ever selling it.

Just picked it up from the local shop today. Really loving it. My pedals have a whole new voice now compared to the VC30 I was using.

You know you have to play all three in a wet/dry/wet setup now, right?

niiiiiiiice.

I always wanted a Sound City. That Marshall looks dope.

I had a RB 120 briefly and it wasn't my cup of tea but I know people really like them.
