We haven’t seen any official word from Sequential on this yet, but on Jan 5, 2021, the company has filed to trademark ‘OB-X’ for use with ‘Musical instruments, namely, keyboards; music synthesizers’.

lol, @ first i was like "might be a mite harsh" thinking it would have a jankworthy price like the OG Uno, but then i saw the price on samash.com and i was like
"In a moment of unparalleled genius, Noel Parachute headed off this potential disaster by unplugging the microphone."
Man, I do not envy anyone trying to sell guitars. You have to "innovate" to seem new, but you can't really go too far from the tried and true, because guitarists (on the whole) utterly despise innovation and only desire transparent overdrive blues-rock solos.

To be fair to everyone buying most of those Fenders when they were new, a lot of the originals are junk. Built poorly, sloppy assembly, boat anchor kind of things. The late 90s/early 2000s were just an era when non-mainstream models from the 70s could be had for like $500 and some musician chanced upon one before getting a big radio single. Gibson Marauders are pretty junky. They were $250 before 'Fat Lip' was on every rock station and justifiably so. Starcasters were completely forgotten before a few people found them cheap and they showed up in photos. A current production Chinese Starcaster is built substantially better than a 70s one.
