so essentially a Les Paul Special solidbody octave mandolin/bouzouki? that's a rather ingenious adaptation of the Jazz Bass Pickup, nice lateral thinking.

Mandolin isn't the main focus of this, but until we have a 5 string viola thread:
if that thing's still there, it won't be for long. i have to stop for a New York minute and be slightly sensible here. i'm short on funds, need a couple or three thousand dollars worth of dental work, and may be doing hypomania shopping. on the other hand, 250 Yankee dollars for an electric bouzouki is a hell of a deal, and this is the first solidbody electric bouzouki i've seen online in 4 or 5 years. i had to pass. i had to get tickets for Becky and i to see Sigur Ros play with the orchestra in September in DC. she hardly gets to do anything due to her disabilities so i'm chuffed. i guess i'll have to let it go. again.
