Incredibly LOUD! That is why it is nice that ILF is a written format. You don't hear much for while after playing through the amp.

always on rat in a big bottom loop straight into the clean channel. We play pretty loud so the amp still heats up a bit. Clean bass is not something I do haha.

The fuzz on the Vox is just an on/off affair with no controls. It sounds a lot like an early silicon transistor Fuzz Face with the Fuzz intensity almost all the way up.

it's actually my sister in laws! I'm usually a precision or aluminium guy but I need to use the jazz for the moment because of the smaller neck.

Love precisions, always have. But I bought my bass when I was 13 or 14 and my hands didn't feel right on the precision neck. Nowadays, my big paws are not that adequate for the Jazz neck, but I don't play that much bass anymore, no matter the fact that it's the first instrument I picked up

What's the difference between the 2?

I have a Squier VM Jag bass standard scale length. What neck would be on that P or J?

If it's a baseball bat, it's P. If it's relatively thin and narrow at the nut, it's J.
