That's the story of so many advisory boards and councils this past year. Everyone just up and quits after a while, because it's clear that the executive branch either doesn't care about what they're doing or flat out doesn't know even know they exist. Meanwhile the white house plays off its refusal to do any work or hire anyone do it for them as efficiency and promoting small government by attrition.

The problem is as I see it most of the people in the senate and the house act like small children. The only way to have this not happen is every time they pull this shit people get voted out of office.

As for trump braking the government.. I don't think he could have become POTUS if there wasn't something already broken..

Yeah, government shutdowns are the result of both parties deciding to wave their dicks around and hope the other side backs down.
While the president is definitely a significant factor, he clearly doesn't have much control over Congress (especially the Democratic part), so if they decide to fuck around and force a shutdown, what do you expect him to do?
