I used to live there, and I have no idea how this guy keeps getting elected. He's hated by pretty much everyone I've every met in both parties, he looks like skeletor trying to wear fake skin, and he completely defrauded Medicaid and should be in prison. Hopefully a fixed prison though since we're on the topic, not that he really deserves it.
The last time I was in FL visiting my mom, we were watching The Florida Channel and Scott came on. My mom practically swooned over him.

I don't think Keep Austin Weird means what Alex Jones thinks it means.
As for the NYT OpEd, that does not surprise me. One of the guys from my fraternity worked as an aide for a republican senator and said the number of Republican employees who have quit up to and during Trump's tenure far exceeds the number who quit during the Obama years. He would know - he's one of them and now works at a think tank full of former GOP employees who quit in Trump's wake.

Only insane in that there are people inside the White House who consider themselves unsung heroes but will just destabilize an already flailing administration with much bigger problems on the way.
And that they think the tax plan passed by this administration is good for the country.
