tyvmbb! I've got a O_c and have been interested in other firmwares but your last two posts accurately describe why I have never looked into it. Got into modular stuff so I didn't have to get computers involved, yomzane?

Muse FTW wrote:So I've been digging and apparently the System 500 Roland currently sells is inspired largely by the System 100m which is great because I don't have $10,000 to drop on a vintage synthesizer, but damn I realized I really like the form factor those had. Really large sliders/knobs with lots of room for patch cables and hands to coexist. I think one thing that has definitely turned me away from the modular lately is the playability. I have large hands as it is and unless it's the big knobs at the top of the Mannequins modules, it's kinda hard to get in there. I really love the Noise Engineering modules but it's a fucking nightmare to turn those little knobs.

I cannot agree more, even if one (ring) (mod)ule like this one costs around 1K shipped  (edit: this seller has several Roland 100m modules parted out, same prix :( :idk: :wha?: )

lol. it's actually a super simple process, and Hemisphere is BANANAS good. apparently, according to Hemie creator, the 1.2 version uses a totally different save structure, so he thought SOME modules might need a reset first. try that when i get home, but pretty sure it will be solid after that. 1.1 runs fiiiiine.

and YES. part of what appeals about modular is the complexity coming from how it's patched up, not figuring out if my printer driver is causing a slightly lower resolution on my monitor output which leaves half the outputs of my USB audio interface contaminated by noise.

just. want to sit down. and make NOISE.
