In love.

It needs a bit of a setup though, I'm just afraid to do it...

But even with high action, it plays like a dream and is more comfortable than any other guitar I've played. Also: $450 new.

Mine needed a setup too but it fell right in place. The lowest, most comfortable action I've achieved on a Fender without shit feeling all sloppy and buzzy and loose. Gotta say, I HATE having to remove the neck to get at the truss rod on Fender offsets, pain in the ass!

Neck angle/pocket is perfect too, something Fender has trouble with on occasion. I prefer not fucking with shims.

$450 is a steal. I used a friend's GC discount but it was still around $600 which I feel is ridiculously fair for such a great guitar.

Yeah. I died when I saw how cheap I could get it.

I'm loving my whole setup with it though,

How'd you get that for $450 new? I want one of those so bad and I could actually afford that.

Been meaning to do this for a while.

Here's my '65 Duo-Sonic II and my hot-rodded '66 Musicmaster II:

Offset confession: I get sad when I remember that my DuoSonic isn't offset.

What are the differences between the Duo-Sonic II, Musicmaster II and the Mustang?

I think the Duo Sonic II is essentially a hardtail Mustang, while the Musicmaster II is a regular Musicmaster setup on a Mustang body.
Please correct if I'm wrong.

Yeah, that's right. The Musicmaster II, like the original, only had the single neck pickup stock. Since they used the same exact body as the Duo-Sonic II, which was already routed for a bridge pickup, a lot of Musicmasters were eventually modded to add a bridge pickup in the existing hole. And the only difference between the Mustang and the Duo-Sonic II is the bridge.

Thanks man. Yes indeed, LPB. I bought it new for $560. It now sports a Warmoth Modified Mustang Bridge (not pictured) and upgraded pots (it came with the dinky little ones). I have a set of Fender AVRI pickups that I dropped in it for a while, but I eventually took them out and put the stock ones back in. I'd like to get another JM to drop those pickups in eventually...but I don't play that much guitar anymore, so I haven't gotten that far, haha.
