When I got my Milk Box I found it on Kijiji (Canadian Craigslist) for $80 and the guy lived down the street from the hospital I work at. I texted him “can I come by in 10 minutes?” and ran over and got it within an hour of the ad being posted.

Now that was ONE FOR THE BOOKS (milk books?)

I paid about that much (American) for my Milk Box, but that was around fifteen years ago.

I've been waiting for a Vibrothang to fall into my lap for years. I don't even know why I'm interested. Maybe I should try to create a Vibrothang patch for the Beebo.

lately here in switzerland I saw 2 DOD FX25b Envelop Filters on the second hand market (both on the same platform at the same time).
The first one for 60$, the second one.... for 300$?!!?!??!?!
People are crazy....

When I was still in school around 1998-2000 I regularly saw those DOD pedals in the pawn shop (Milk Box and some of the others) for under 40 or 50 DM! That's less than 20 or 25 EUR. Had I known that the prices would rise up to pure insanity ...

Vintage hype?
I mean I did buy a FX86b Death Metal for 30$ 2 years ago!
Yes it's insane... 60$ depending on the condition (especially the battery lid is NOT MISSING) is ok, but not more!

Yeah, the appreciation of dusty effects pedals has gone mainstream.

Much like many other formerly marginalized pursuits.

It's like those people who wear CBGB t-shirts and don't even know what CBGB is. :idk:

I get the uptick for the Thrash Master and the Metal Maniac. The Buzz Box too! You just never see them pop up. But it’s still pretty easy to find a Death Metal for under $100. Unless you’re on popular website Reverb dot com.

I think there’s a certain type of person who thinks they’re sitting on a gold mine and no ones buying, and another type of person selling local that go really fast for a fair price. You just have to be diligent. I bought an FX86 in a gear shop for $66.66 last year and I called to put it on hold, they’d had like 30 calls for it by the time I got there later in the day. If they’d doubled the price it would have sat there for a month.

I know, i get deals often. I freaked out some kid when they heard how many *x-price* distortion plusses I've passed on. It just saddens me. Soon everything will be collectible. If we are unlucky through-hole bosses will go for silly prices due to assman mike
