I started the new one yesterday (Rise of the Tomb Raider). It does look good and the gameplay is all right but there are a number of annoying as fuck game systems/level design decisions in there too. So far it's ok but I'd say I much prefer the previous one (the reboot). Also, the story is stupid as fuck, does not suspend my disbelief one bit. Still, I'll give it a bit more time, it might turn into something much better once all the game systems are in place...
Still, all that fits with what a coworker (who worked on the previous game) told me, i.e. there were much more junior people on that team and they tried to redo what the other game did (and that's a very solid base, it was a great game) but they weren't as experienced and that shows...

Still playing Rocket League quite often.
Just picked up Hyper Light Drifter, which is kicking my ass a bit, but I love the visual and sound design so I will keep at it.
Finished Inside and Guacamelee, both great games.
Played Life is Strange episode 1, it got its hooks in me. Need to find time to play the whole game sometime.
Been a productive few weeks for games, not so much more making music.
My Xbox gamertag is magneticECH0, that is a zero at the end. Send me a message with ILF and I know you arent a creep. Up to play Rocket League, Star Wars Battlefront, Titanfall, or maybe Gears 3, but mainly Rocket League right now.

Rocket League is so fun......I'm at a plateau now though. I just started messing with rocket jumps and controlling the car in the air. It seems impossible. lol

I just scream into the mic when I score. I can't imagine playing that game by yourself, but playing with my friends is usually just hilarity the entire time.

I've not bought a Nintendo console since the N64 but I would like to re-acquaint myself Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, etc. Should I think about getting a Wii (U) or a 3DS? Or maybe wait until the NX is released?

I love my kids' Wii U, but support has been pretty lackluster for it. Nintendo titles are all pretty awesome, though. As much as it kills me to say it, I don't know if I'd recommend it to someone.
You could do very well with someone's used Wii off of Craigslist and working your way through an absolute massive backlog of Wii games including all the Virtual Console shit plus bargain stuff for the bigger, classic, releases.
Although, I will say if you're gonna get a Wii U make sure you add Splatoon, by far the most fun I've ever had in a shooter.

Are you trying to reacquaint yourself with the new titles or just play the old classics again?
If the latter just get an emulator and call it a day.

Currently in Japan. Been browsing Akiba today, dumb question a lot of the games say 'Japan Only' on the back cover. Could I still play those? Not usually into importing games. I'm kind of wanting to try the Psycho Pass game.
I did pick up a limited edition 20th Anniversery Metal Gear Boxset for $20, so I'm happy having that on my shelf.

Might have to do with PAL encoding or something but if it's for Vita and you have a Vita you should be able to play it unless I'm completely missing how things work.

Vita is completely region free. You can play any region game on any region console.
The only thing to remember is that you need a Japanese PSN account to use DLC (almost never necessary and when available it's usually not important, depending on the game).
Also almost no Japanese games will have much, if any English language support, and if they're pre-owned you won't get trophies.
The Psycho Pass game is being localized, so if you wanna play it in English you might wanna wait until mid-September for the release of that, since it's pretty text-heavy.

Giving my age away but I have been playing since pong came out as a kid and have been gaming since. I have been thru all Atari to Nintendo thru N64 & Sega to Playstation 1 & 2 then switched to X-Box 360 & now the One. Waiting on the 4K systems to hit to upgrade. I have to buy another TV for that to but I just bought a new 55" for gaming lol. My MOM has a Wii and plays it on her 3D TV. She likes the Tennis & workout games but my favorite is always Mario Cart for Nintendo.

Both, I think. However, any Nintendo games released in the 21st century are potentially new to me!
What is the best emulator for OS X?
