I was considering getting a PS4 but the Switch took me by surprise. May just hold off for it instead.

Wow, I haven't been truly interested in a Nintento anything since the N64, but the Switch actually looks super promising. I can totally see myself grabbing one of those.

Red Dead Redemption 2 not coming to PC (at least not right away) fucking sucks. Not going to buy a console just to play it. Rockstar and their double dip honey dicking gets old.
Anyway, I finally got a chance to play Mafia 3 and the story is surprisingly rad so far! I don't know how long the gameplay will hold me, though. Been doing the same things in these games since GTA went 3D.

It's possible to acquire a secondhand console, play for a month or 2 then move it for what you paid, eat the shipping. It's like a cheap rental.

Splatoon is one of my favorite games ever. I can't wait to see what they do with the second one. They did such a good job building the world, I feel like they could do so much with it. I wanna see bigger battles. 8v8 or 16v16 would be amazing and they could probably do it with the new hardware
I still need to checkout Splatoon looks rad. Work keeps be busy enough that at the end of the day video games are very low on the to-do list sadly.

That's a pretty good idea, actually. I'll still need to find a TV.

Blah, maybe I'll wait a couple years and hope it comes to PC.

if you have a PC monitor already there's no reason to get a TV to play PS4 or whatever.
i use my 17in laptop as a monitor and play in bed, or plug it into a 24in IPS monitor and it works great, wouldn't even think of buying a TV. as long as it has HDMI you're set.
as much as it sucks they won't release it on PC for a while, it isn't entirely irrational. piracy on PC cuts into potential sales a fair bit, and GTA V still sold well despite the delay, so it's kind of a no-brainer as far as maximizing profit goes. they're a business, after all.

Whoa! Great suggestion. Had no idea you could do this, but it makes sense. I'm so far behind on consoles. Haven't owned one since the PS2. I may steal/borrow my nephew's PS4 at release then.

Yeah, I do that too. Everything plugged in an HDMI switcher and then to the 27" monitor. Except that for some reason the PC doesn't like the HDMI switcher since we moved, there must be some fuckery going on with the cabling.
But yeah, I plan on putting the Switch on there too in march (unless these fuckers don't make the games region-free, I don't want my games in Japanese...).

Surely you can read it, though?

Japanese ?
Not well enough to play a game with a story and really enjoy it. Kanji are hell, seriously.

I mean my experience with Kanji has been strictly video games and the "yes I would love to see that tattoo on your right hip" variety so I'll just take your word for it.
