If you have even a mediocre PC, Steam has most of them now.
Does it have Xenogears?

Picked up Enter the Gungeon and Vagante. Liking both games but I'm annoyed that Gungeon's co-op is locked until you've cleared the game once.

So I caved in to effin' black friday and got myself a Ps4. The Last Of Us, Journey, Life is Strange and The Last Guardian (when it's released) are deffo on my/our list. Anyone got other suggestions? Any couch co-op/vs/multiplayer games that are fun to play with your bf/gf? (Nevermind sports games, my gf hates that stuff). Keep in mind we're both very much casual players. Has anyone tried any of the Trine games?

Aaaaaand thanks to Amazon's sales we've got a PS4 slim, a second controller, Lego Harry Potter collection, and Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition heading our way. That's our Christmas done. Might be a few weeks before it shows up because they were out of Battlefront. The bundle comes with Uncharted but I'm hoping I can flip it for Diablo or Helldivers or one of the thousand baseball games.

I picked my games specifically for couch co-op. We're expecting our first in February and I wanted things to do together/keep my wife happy while she's recovering.

I've been mostly phone gaming because it's more manageable and less of a commitment during the first two weeks. Will probably start my regularly scheduled programming in a few days or a week or two.

PanicProne wrote: On Final Fantasy in general. Did anyone ever play any of the earlier ones? I've had FFVI or III (as I think it was marketed in the US?) sitting on a shelf for 15 years but never played it. My brother finished it though. I've still got to finish FF IX one day too.
I have played most of the 8 and 16 bit versions and can still go through them on memory.

FF: NES, GBA (w/Dawn of Souls), Java phone port for Sony Erickssons
FF2US: SNES
FF3US: SNES
FFIV: SNES, PSX (Chronicles), GBA, DS, iOS
FFV: SNES, GBA, iOS
FFVI: SNES, GBA, iOS

FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX: PSX

All of the above are recommended to experience, for anyone into JRPG.
FF Legend 3 is best OG Gameboy version. The others are mostly meh.
Also be advised to just avoid FF Mystic Quest, game is trash

I stopped caring about new FF after 9 but I enjoy revisiting everything up to that point.
FFVII remake doesn't interest me, go figure.

What's the verdict on XV so far? (i may be asking this a bit early, haha)
I haven't really been able to get into any newer FF games but was thinking of giving it a try.

Decided to go into FF15 completely blind, about 40 minutes in. Seems like it has potential, though I think that it would be significantly less cringey playing with Japanese Audio rather than the English. Final Fantasy's track record with English dubbing really isn't good. Action is fine enough, not as tactile as Souls or Witcher but you can dodge/parry/flank enemies which seems fun enough. Right now, the story seems simple enough which is odd compared to the 'Crystal Castle' bullshit of the recent ones.

My only criticism is that the so far is that the characters look super detailed, but the environments look like they come from RAGE or FO3. I guess that's how long the game has been in development for. I don't know what people think of the Cindy character but i'm looking forward to seeing people cry Sexist.

So far it's better than the shit show of XIII-1-2-3 and less cringey as X.

Weren't they gonna release a DLC for the JPN audio track? I guess that probably wouldn't be out yet though.

Speaking of which, Persona 5 got delayed another 2 months but they're doing Japanese audio DLC now. Will finally be able to play without the voices turned off

The option is there when you first load up the game, no DLC. Unless it actually was the day 1 patch, don't know.
