Get a PM. Check wmd’s site to see if there’s any blems available!

solid recommendations from solid humans.

lol. i DID! got one of the blems that he said he replaced a gain pot on, no cosmetic damage so. got that, a 50 pack of the fader caps WHICH IS ALL I WAS REALLY LOOKING FOR, and a PM Mutes from DetMod en route.

should be a nice setup? i like the idea of downsizing the mixer while having more options, skiff should look like this -

Image

excited about the Deluge and this skiff in front of the 7u, which was WAY easier to navigate last weekend than the 12u.

woooooot.

also, reading up on the Muffs PM thread, think i might have misconceptiooooooooons about the DB25 expander.

i was kinda thinking that i could use that, get a snake that is DB25 on one end, 8 outs (1/4 inch preferably) on the other end, run that into my mixer/usb interface inputs.

nope? has to have some type of converter at some point?

edit - like just this guy out the DB25 into my mixer?

As long as your mixer wants a balanced input, that works. At least according to other Colorado peeps. This literally came up on our group today along with that exact amazon link. lol

SKEELZ. I SEE THE FUTURE.

or.... the... present? that's. not near as impressive.

cooooooooool. i WOULD like if there was an option for pre/post fader on the DB25 outs, but i get what he's going for with the non-destructive outs.

hurrrrrrm. this could be..... really cool. i use a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter box Dan The Dubya made for me, one side towards modular, one side towards mixer. this would eliminate that so i can focus on one mixer.

and excited to have this skiff and the Deluge in front of the 7u.

also, DAYUM WMD Homeboy ships fast. he got the pack of fitty fader caps out before i could message, "you know, i think i'm'a grab a PM, wait on the caps and ship together?". then shipped the PM like 14 minutes after i paid it down.

I don't think there is an option. All the people that I know who have it generally record the summed stereo out alongside all the individual channels so that they can get the vibe of what they were playing but readjust all the levels. It's more work, but probably better for that high quality sheen.

yah. i mean. it is a minooooor quibble. after trying hellza hard to find a mixer that sent post fader levels and was under a grand or two and FAILING, i'm used to doing whatcha say. record, listen to the vidja audio, match up. just kills a bit of the awesomeness of CV control over pan and levels and all. but. again. MINOR.

annnnnd i have been informed by Beasty Yeasty that i mighhhhht run into power problems. the skiff layout i have in ModGrid says 625mA at +/- 12V rails and 1A at the +5V, ModAddict says tue Befaco Jump Skiff provides 900 mA +12V | 625 mA -12V | 0 mA 5V.

i am such an idjit about euro power that i don't know exactly what i have to change. i can keep the headers in the case? or are those attached to the psu? just get a bigger brick to plug in?

if i have to upgrade power, what do i dooooooo?

I was thinking about the PM as an external module, but there is that expander, so I'd have to get rails for it at least. I think I'd rather do the Mixology external anyway (all those bigass Qubits are perfect for external jamming, and the pots are tough as bricks) and put a Praga in its place the rack. Decentralized mixing (and sampling) is just where my needs have led me. Like, I need one or two mixers just for my drums now, to feed into effects and/or the Mixology, which goes into the mixer/interface. Mixerface. Other modules like Warps, Plague Bearer and Electro Cardiogram can do 2/1 mixes for other voices, and I'm using the Scooper as an external 4-1 drum mixer now, which is great. Just a bit of everything it was ever intended for. Pedal style module, currently set to clean, but can have different sweeping filters on all 4 audio ins, all mixed to one output, which goes through the main effect for scooperpoops. The other output has an LFO patched out because it would be wasted otherwise, but it can have the clean mix on it if need be. I think Praga is probably the best cool mixer, WMD is the best technically, and pretty much all others are just utilities that don't have to be cool or amazing.

yah. Pragas are SEXY.

murf. so. this says it's 1.2 a on the -12 abd +12 - http://www.analoguehaven.com/intellijeldesigns/tps30w/

that would totes be enough for what i'm looking towards power? was cheapest of everything i could find that seemed right.

Took my eurorack to jam with a drummer and bassist. Basically creating a wall of modulated sound with clouds or echophon to jam over. Anyways I came up with an alternative use for my Pittsburgh Modular case and the best pun ever:

Hope this brings you all a chuckle.

I would love to add that DB25 output... just need an interface with enough inputs! Man I should get off my ass and get this done, would be so nice! Wish I could steer you straight on your power concerns but i don’t know much about euro power :idk:

lol. i don't know yet!

i have.... something... being done to my main case, won't be back till early next week. so i emptied it out, and all my modules are sitting all lonely and unracked. went to see Of Montreal last night, Date Night the day before. so todayyyyy after work is racking up them Octones, the Metro, Pam's, some osc's, the xOx Heart and a few bits and bobs in a temp case to fuck around Looty McLoot Style.

yah. was being silly. too invested in the idea of the Befaco Jump Skiff. with a new psu and paying dooder to build it it'll end up being 4 hundy or more. not smart.

returning that, have a MN Skiff on the way. going to try to sort the 2.5m to 3m vector nuts.

annnnnnnnd cancelled the Intellijel power supply, but grabbed a used Wogglebug. so. NEAT.

also, fuck YES the xOx Heart is funnnnnnnn. and i misssssed the Metropolis. she's going into the Beehive/uPlaits.
