Eugene the cat is photogenic indeed : )
And somehow it seems he has developed an addiction to music gear as well.

New one settling in. Only tried for 5 minutes so far because busy and no band practice till last week, but I like the layout and tone controls so far.

Picked up this vintage Acoustic 270 head recently! Needs some TLC, but it works! Sounds great and came with the original footswitch and everything. I particularly like the Tremolo on it, it’s a real square wave pulsing trem. At some point i’ll hook this up with a full stack and see how much loud I can handle!

Always thought that all the Quilter rage was just another hype waiting to be replaced by the next end-all-be-all digital amp.

Really curious to hear your opinion. Judging by that amp collection, I can't think of anyone better qualified to compare the quiler to a 'real' amp :)

You use it for recording/practice purposes, home noodling, or even in live situations...?

I really like it. Have had it since october. I use it mostly at rehearsals. But I have used it live and while recording to.
I don't play guitar at home, so it stays in the studio.
It sounds good and takes pedals like a champ. Compared to the Traynor YBA-1 and Ampeg V4, it lack some low end, but since they are bassamps it's not really a fair comparison.

^ tnks.

Know what you mean, to my ears EVERYTHING lacks low end ever since I got used to my YBA-1  :idk:

The Quilter's not exactly dirt cheap though, considering the price of those chinese/vietnamese/indonasian/whatever heads by blackstar, jet city, egnater, etc...:idk:

It'd make more sense for me if size/convenience were a huge issue I guess, or if they weren't so rare on the local used market :/

Edit: found out somethingt that puts that 'not-so-extremely-low' price into perspective...Those quilters are made in the USA!

Dude this amp sounds goooood. Loud and clean, nice spring reverb and weird fuzzy overdrive. It made a crackling sound when I first played through it, but a lil oxide- and electro-cleaner inside fixed it right up.

Peavey, you do not disappoint.

Adding this inside cutout view, it has a simple rustic beauty.. a couple of the transistors seemed to have hairy legs. Anyway, I just couldn't pass this up at the price and somehow I love old solid state combos.
