Yeah man, Maslow's Hierachy of Needs and all that jazz. It's so true.

^Yup. And it's best not to worry about it too much. Feelings come and go, no need to stress yourself out for no reason.

In other news, I've been doing a lot of stretching and just doing my best to be as lucid as possible in my movements throughout the day. My hanging challenge progress is improving. I've started doing self-massages to release muscle tension, its so good. And stretching a lot has given me more mileage in exercising. The progress is slow but I feel the buildup really nicely.

Drinking water with magnesium. a spoon of honey, a spoon of hemp protein, and eating some bananas. Some herbal muscle relaxant as well.
It's my Aikido-prep, to get most out of the exercises. And it happened totally randomly, feels good.

If anyone needs protein, pre workout, bcaas or any other supplements let me know and I might be able to hook you up. I work for the largest international distributor of US sports nutrition products so I get shit at cost.

Hey here's a thing here that I never read through.

Here's what I've been doing
I've been eating healthy foods for at least 6 months now. Like fruit every day, cooking shiz, nothing processed when I can. I've also been going running for almost as long. I can run a lot farther than I used to but nothing spectacular. I'm just now getting into trying to make progress. I'm on week 4 of C25k but thinking about taking the week off because one of my shins is hurting and IDK what it is. So just gonna chill and see what happens
All in all, I still feel about the same as I did when I started. I was about 240 lbs then, don't know about now since I don't have a scale. I never really felt unhealthy though (except when you're stuck with netflix and a bag pretzels/jar of peanut butter. I haven't had pb in so long now). And my roommates are kind of horrible influences and lazy and smokey and drinky so I end up joining them on occassion but moving in with a wife after getting married this summer. So that's me. livin life

Gahh I miss running but I don't want to hinder my strength progress. There's not enough time in life to do everything I want.

I just started a graduate program in Philosophy.

My diet is shitty. Coffee, lots of Mexican food, sandwiches, burgers here and there. I love fruit and veggies but I'm often too lazy to cook - no excuse with regard to fruit as it doesn't need to be cooked. I'm not overweight; 6'3, 195lbs.

What are some good meals to make/foods to eat that are good for mental energy and focus?

Fruit sugars, honey, anything with omega acids (both of them) = brain food. Green/black tea is good for focus, so is guarana.
IME, the most important thing is not to overdo things. Something may be healthy but if you use it too much, you won't get good results from it.
Balanced meals are the way to go.

Apart from diet, regular everyday exercise that keeps the blood pumping will help you the most, it wakes you up, oxygenates the system and helps redistribute the nutrients. When the whole body is healthy and happy, you get more efficiency with everything, cuz the body is a self-supporting system.

And I can't really help you with recipes cuz I make my own recipes based on what I've got at home at any given time.
Would have never discovered pancakes with tartar and honey otherwise

Ofc, don't make it an abrupt shift, no need to shock yourself. Take it easy but take one decisive small step, every day.

I just started back into walking and eating kale.

Because I went on a serious bender where all I'd eat is a bucket of fried chicken and pizza for breakfast, chinese buffet or whatever for lunch, Tacos and Cheeseburgers for dinner and porkrinds, doritos, assorted candy throughout the day.

My doctor says I'm prediabetic and prehypertension (not bad considering). So yeah. Life changes. And Water. Exclusively water. Unless its time for booze. I can give up fried chicken. I can't give up altered states.
