Yeah, I'm actually ordering one of those too for slower crossfades and different intentions.... I'd be afraid of breaking the joystick... I was a DJ in a former life a loooong time ago and want THAT type of control specifically.

i don't know the Rabid guys at all, they're probably the nicest peoples ever, but i get an instinctive shiver whenever i see their names pop up.
I bought a used module from one of those guys on muffs, and he was one of the nicest peoples ever in a pool of damn nice peoples...just sayin'
for sure. i mean, most builders (efx pedals, modules, small hobby anything) are just awesoooooomeeee people.
but it's like.... the same way if something is ALL THE WAY POPULAR EVERYONE LOVES IT OH MER GERD YESSSS i have an instinctual twitch of BLEGH..... all the hype and unattainability of the Gates makes me sooooo not want to try to find one?

No, I get it. I hate feeling that gnawing crave when I can't GET THE THING I WANT AND I'M STARTING TO HATE THE LOVELY PEOPLES THAT MAKE THE LOVELY THINGS I WANT. I typically resort to
reflexive gagging intensive concious work on no longer wanting the thing I want. Works in fits.

Incidentally, I WANT THAT NATURAL GATE THING TOO--UUURRRGGGHHH!

Ruiner wrote:Anybody know of a good crossfader module? I'd like it to her DJ quality as far as the crossfader is concerned similar to those used for "scratching". I'd like it to be used for audio or cv crossfading. Preferably horizontal. The Synthwerks SP-1P is the only one I've found and no idea how the action on the crossfader is and not easy to find (I think it's DIY kits?). The other I've found is the Rabid Elephant Knobs but their modules are unobtainable for the most part (and the location of their crossfader is horrible IMO). Essentially I'd like to be able to, for example, take a sequence going through a sound source where I've split them, one with distortion and one without and "scratch" the distortion in and out (or just scratch the cv of the distortion module) so I can create patterns, "crab the fader", chops, etc in a performance type way.
Nonlinear circuits segue seems a nice crossfader:

But I got me one of these:

Whoa, that Hypnosis is beautiful. Huge 80s vibe! It would be perfect paired with my DX7 and/or Poly 800. All the 80s!
Also, I'm thinking of selling one of my Mother 32s with an empty Moog case and 2-tier rack kit. Probably going to post later so hit me up if you're interested.

Hypnosis has a cool vibe, but it needs CV inputs badly. I'm surprised Dreadbox didn't give it any at all.

sooooo yeah. love it. spent about an hour jiggling with it and i LOVE having the drums and melodics on the same module/save spot.
i'm running the top 4 gates as BD/SD/CHH/OHH into the ER-301, then the other 4 for melodic stuff, and YESH.

this is vertial not horizontal and you'd have to add it to something else, but might this work?

Cool! May look into that.... but for now I just ordered this and have a few ideas of ways to use it so will see how I like this for now (will only cover a few of the ideas I had for it) and will continue the search if I don't like it
