My VMJM.

Changed the knobs and pick guard, added a Mastery bridge. Wired it so that the old rhythm circuit now controls the gold foil

Super nice! Matching headstock, sonic blue and tort

The gold foil must sound terrific in there and it's a nice use for the rythm circuit knobs :thumb:

Cheers guys. It's a Third Eye Guitar - they were (are?) a subsidiary of Custom 77 - I grabbed it a couple of years ago in a massive sale they did to prevent bankruptcy - they said it was B-Stock because the maple cap was twice the thickness it should be or something haha

Epic accidental stumble upon NGD! it's a 1965 Silvertone 1448 guitar and amp-in-case! I was out doing errands in the burbs (getting costume stuff!) and stopped by a used/consignment shop to look around. I noticed a small guitar case between two shelves in the back of the store so I pulled it out to find this beauty. Crazy part is It was $47, given it was pretty gross and the action was real bad but 30 minutes of cleaning and a quick bridge/neck tilt adjustment and this thing good to go! I think I may order an isolation transformer and get the amp going as well...

That thing looks awesome, and that is a steal! I saw someone selling one of those locally last week, such a rad looking guitar, and the amp case is just the cherry on top. Nice find.

I haven't tried it out yet. I don't think I'm gonna try it out until I clean it up/rewire it, there is a fairly good shock chance with this thing haha. There's no power transformer in it, the AC line runs to a rectifier tube and then to the other tubes in series, using the tubes themselves and resistors inline to drop the voltage, there's also no "ground" as its wired on hot/neutral wires.

that's one of the best thrift deals I have seen in a long time

as someone who has gotten bit by old amps before you are probably right to make sure it is safe before plugging it in
