Scored a MOTS gig in Greensboro! Hooray. Think I'll bring my chaotic techno cartoon case.

I will not be Kickstarting that 1u-only box. I feel like it exists just because it can rather than for any more meaningful reason. However, I despise meaning and reasons and therefore celebrate the 1u-only box... for those who are into that sort of thing.

Hey, I received my 2nd broken 2hp module yesterday. About a year ago, I received a broken 2hp Burst. 2hp was very nice about it and I ended up with a working 2hp Burst (which I sold because it did not burst the way I wanted it to). Yesterday, I received a broken 2hp LPF. I haven't even contacted 2hp yet because I'm not done complaining about this travesty of justice on the internet. Receiving a broken module is akin to receiving a kick in the dick. I mean, I ordered the 2hp LPF to finish my cartoon chaos case for MOTS on Saturday but now my plans are shot to shit! Thankfully, I have a back-up in the form of a DFAM-based case with which I can still shred face at my new favorite tempo, 168 bpm.

also, gots a Q-Pas on the way, and trying to negotiate a second Pam's with the 4 hp clocks/MIDI expander.

Tempi is neat but..... neh. not for me. at least not as a main clock. very cool as a tappy divider, but i actually prefer the NoiseEng Integra Solum more, and the new one coming outside looks GOOD.

I just sold my Plaits, bought a Three Sisters, and have pending deals on a few other things. Hopefully, if everything goes well, I'll have the money to buy a Planar 2 and Stretch Weaver (when it's released). Going to make weird sidechaining sample drones

Aw, you are v. nice to offer but I'm OK!

I have fully committed to my DFAM-based rig.

Now I will reveal the secret of my DFAM-based rig. Plug an output from Trigger Riot into the Adv/Step input of DFAM. Set the clock division to 1 and the probability to 50. Set the VCA Decay knob on DFAM to something drummy. Instant broken beat! Twist velocity + pitch knobs to create new beats. Do not forget to modulate the noise level with something perky for snares / hats which sound alive.

The rest of the patch supports and enhances the above secret. If MOTS does not get recorded, I will record a practice set and post it on Soundcloud.

^^^I'm curious about all the Mannequins modules (minus W/ which I bought immediately after its release and then rage flipped).

It would be cool to have a rig that was all Monome, Mannequins, and Orthogonal Devices. I feel like a rig like that would be almost too beautiful to play. I feel like a rig like that would look good photographed with a crystal and a plant.

For real, though, I want to play with all of that stuff.

My MOTS practice sets have been going well. The best one is ~18 minutes long which is quite long for me. I will get nervous and the actual set will last 8 minutes but that is cool because I like hyper-compressed informational transfers of sound: chop chop. Unfortunately, my ZOOM H4 handheld recorder perished and I no longer have a little recorder to definitely record the set. Music is temporary om

Stephen at 2hp has been super cool about my broken 2hp LPF. He asserted the unit is defective after seeing a video I took of the unit being defective and has promised to send along a new unit provided I mail back the defective unit at his expense. It has been a very civil exchange between men and I look forward to LPFing my IME* Piston Honda Mk2 soon.

* Anyone know the story of why THE HARVESTMAN became IME?
