Communists are not out to get you or your money/assets. Seriously. There are not.

The closest thing we have to Communism in America is the merging of gigantic corporations and our state, local, and federal governments. It’s not a conspiracy; it’s just how our system has evolved. An example of one of the most Communist things about America that I can think of is the insane number of Wal-Mart employees who need to turn to public assistance and safety nets to survive.

Tellingly: Russia mutated from Communism into authoritarian oligarchy. American democracy has already devolved into an oligarchy (not hyperbole; we meet the definition, and then some), and we are working hard on many levels on the authoritarian thing.

Homelessness is pervasive in all countries I’ve lived in also, currently in Dublin where privately rented housing has completely ruined this city. Stockholm isn’t as bad, but guess what, lots and lots of the housing stock is publicly rented housing. Again, I’m not saying you are bad, my currently landlord in my privately rented place is a decent stand up guy.
