Congrats duder!

Also, drawing on Dirge pedals has made me want to draw more recently. It's been nice.
Also got asked to do a split CDr with a dark ambient/noise guy with my black metal project, so that will be fun.
Lastly, I was SUPER productive on Saturday and finished up so much Dirge stuff. Felt nice to move stuff off the bench. No for more stuff!!

The other day, I was just waking up, and the Mrs. comes and gets in the bed. I asked if I needed to turn over (to give her ample room). She nodded. I rolled over. Then I asked her what the meaning of this was, if she wanted to hump my butt. She grabs me around the waist, and pounds my ass like a worked up inmate. Live by the hot dog, die by the hot dog. It made me chuckle, being humped by a girl. And made me further appreciate how ideal our relationship is.

I applied for a dj spot at the local college radio station and they accepted my application. Not happening until Sept/Oct/Nov, but I'm still really excited to have the chance to do something with a really solid radio station. They are literally the only good station in Lexington. Makes me have hope for the airwaves.

Rearranged my entire apartment as well. The new layout feels really clean and open. Still getting used to a couple things, but it is a major improvement. First time I've really rearranged since I moved in almost a year ago.

that's great. i did pirate radio at Burning Man for a couple of years, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. my only advice: write down the playlist as you go so you can back-announce...everybody likes to know what they just heard. do you have a theme, or is it play whatever you want?

YES announcing what track was just on is important. I really hate tuning in halfway through a song and having no idea what it is. Congrats on the DJ gig!

I'm not sure yet. Usually they have themed sets (i.e. Psychedelic Contessa, World Beat, etc), but you can pretty much play whatever. It's all supported by local business so it is a really liberated station. After 10 pm they get HEAVY. Like industrial black metal heavy. And thug hip hop.
They are usually really good about having people announce tracks. I'd definitely do that. I can't stand not knowing a good random tune.

An acquaintance of mine is a dj there and I know he had pretty much free rein over the playlist. Just depends. Of course I won't really know until training in a few months!

Just had a super productive recording session. We did the rhythm and lead guitars and the drums for four songs, in under four hours. And everything sounded pretty good. I'll find out more about how everything turned out when we go back to lay down vocals, bass and the extra guitar parts; but I feel really good about. I do need a shower, though. We recorded in an abandoned milk barn...

i got one of my project guitars assembled today. this one is the Hopy Twisty body with a Hofner 173 neck. i have to install a Tunomatic on old-school posts so the high strings will intonate properly, but other than that it's done. today i drilled the holes for the neck bolts and mounted the neck, set up the Jazzmaster-esque tremolo, and tightened up the tuners. it tunes up just fine, and after shimming the neck a bit it plays without buzzing all up the neck. and the neck looks fucking gorgeous on the body. i has a happeez.
