I really hope that we don't need to necrobump this topic in a few years. I don't want to see anyone of the Trump family in politics again.

I mean, Trump could run again. It woudn’t be the first time we’ve had a president serve two non-consecutive terms

After his powers wither, I'm not sure he'll have the juice to keep his legion of followers pumped up without the white house megaphone, but stranger things have happened.

Also, the fast food industry has really stepped up their game, so at least he'll have that to keep himself golden through and through in the meantime.

But I'd probably stay away from Mar-a-Lago for awhile :erm:

Yeah he will probably not run again, as he never truly wanted to be president in the first place. The dems are just such fuck-ups that they can lose to literally anyone.

But, whats our guesses for what trumps next job will be?

Well, hasn't NY just got a hold of his tax returns? Could be that his time in the sun is coming to an end?

I mean, all this spotlight on his finances and business dealings over the last four years could potentially lead to some legal repurcussions. From my view from over the ocean anyway.

Or maybe it's just my desire for karma and narrative form that makes me think he could go from scumbag president to convicted felon?

I don't think he'll face any criminal charges, unfortunately, because there will be an effort to maintain decorum and "heal the country" or whatever.

Instead of the Mussolini or Gaddafi send-off he and his buddies have earned, it'll be "we're all Americans, not enemies".

Pretty sure this election just put that one to bed.

They got a squeaker out of economic devastation and 230k dead, facing a guy whose approval never got north of 45% even before that. They lost support among POC, their demographic firewall that allows them to win a race anywhere in the country (they lost that support to a party that has openly embraced white nationalism!). They will, inevitably, lose seats in the midterms, probably flipping the House. If Biden doesn't run again in 2024, they've lost the incumbency advantage - and the next in line has zero charisma.

Democrats should be shitting themselves.

Trump won't run again but he's going to relish that every Republican has to travel to Mar-a-Lago and pay homage to him. He'll start a Youtube network where he lights up any Republican insufficiently loyal, leading to them hiding in bunkers for fear of his Q-pilled fans.

One good thing with this election being over is that I now can be as openly hateful of Senile Iraq War Crime Bill Biden as I want without anyone forcing me to admit he is preferable over trump. Biden is 0% good.

Trump will have a talk show called something like "The Oval Office" where he gets to talk to celebrities and make fun of democrats and republicans he doesn't like and he will love it

One thing that I'm really surprised I haven't seen mention (or not anywhere that I've seen): There was a Blue Wave. Biden is up to 78 million votes and still counting. I've seen analysis that he will end up north of 80, shattering the previous record (Obama 2008) by over 10 million votes.

It's just that there was also a Red Wave, with Trump also shattering Obama's record by over 3 million votes. (And who are these 9-10 million people who didn't vote for him 4 years ago, witnessed the intervening 4 years and were motivated to come out now? That is a whole different analysis).

2022 and 2024 is going entirely depend on which wave comes closest to being sustained.

I had a weird conversation with a guy I do landscaping work for sometimes. He's a hardcore Trumper, really doesn't like the idea of higher taxes (he actually is in the bracket that will get a tax increase under Biden) or abortion. Anywho, we had a bonfire of the stuff I'd cut last night, having more than a few beers and it unfortunately got political and he started talking about abortion. Cool thing is though, he was actually very receptive, we talked about planned parenthood for a bit and I explained some of the other services that they provide, some of which lower the risk of pregnancy, so now he's set up a monthly donation to our local planned parenthood

Good on you.

People are easily swayed. Either way and turn on a dime if they trust the person telling them the facts. However people like to believe that if someone holds a position of power they are incapable of lying and end up buying into lies.
