awesome! Squibbers is ENTICING.

oof. so. Nerdz is BOSS. for.... melodic stuff. the sample size limit is more restrictive than i thought it would be, and the trigger sequencing is very cool and has some awesome features but... nowhere near as good as Meteon. so i put Meteonical and Assimil8or back in my system, canceled the order i had placed for an Erica Drum Sample.

Having a simple way to record directly into the module is way more efficient for me than recording into a DAW and then transferring it to an SD card. It's basically replaced everything I used an OP-1 for, just more flexible in basically every way.
I did not need to read this, my wallet does not need me to read this.

The new Instruo looper + granular synth are up for preorder. Definitely on my list but can’t afford them (or fit them) at the moment. I will certainly be clearing room for them though.

Just ordered a black ZPO/Stereo Dipole combo + XOF.

I really want to get into modular synths but I'm guessing that you can't just buy one. That you need to get a few as well as a case. What would the basic startup for a modular setup be? Where does one start by way of units?

I always recommend starting with something like the Mother 32. You get everything you need to start in one package and can then add a case and random modules to supplement it whenever you like after

Yah. I started with a Make Noise 0-Coast. Probably any semi-modular is good to start so you can get a feel for w.t.f. is going on with patching and etc.

0-Coast, Mother 32, and DFAM are great entry points to modular. I heartily recommend watching a lot of demos on all of them so you can see what kind of approach interests you most. They've all got their advantages and downsides.

It's definitely possible to jump all in on modular and skip the semi-modular path but it takes a lot more money to get going on something you aren't 100% committed to yet.

so good.

band i was in as a teenager, wrote a song called DSP. the singer was to pseudo-rap "Are you down with the Syndrome?" and the drummer, guitarist and i would respond "Down Syndrome POSSE.".

we were like 15, thought it was hilarious, were never brave enough to play it out.

probably a good thing.
