I listened to an episode of the QAnon Anonymous podcast on the Capitol invasion and they veered momentarily into the Guy Debord's 'spectacle' and fuck me the situationists and Society of the Spectacle were something I hadn't thought about in a very long time.

I know this will sound conspiracy but! What if Trump was put in this place as President, just to ensure a larger scale effort. The virus, the riots, the 4 years of idiocy. Trump has too much pride to have not taken that seat but I truly believe the man never wanted to be President. He says and said it for decades but what if those are groomed words. Biden is an old idiot and his VP I know very little about other than these stimulus bills, which will fuck big and little guys alike. The one thing I like about Biden is that he is pro pot legislation federally. That’s it. He’s just a suit like the rest. Oh and he did make some comment about helping mom and pop investors like me but I guess we will see.

I think he originally intended his run for President as free publicity for his business ventures.

He, obviously, wasn't qualified to be POTUS.

Was probably as surprised as anyone that he won (and we all lost).

Huuuge wins for Trump ever since then. The Republicans got so tired of winning. Four years of constant wins. The best administration that the USA ever had. And a better golf handicap than Tiger Woods in his best years.

Trump had no real interest in being President - but he can't stand to be a looooooooooser. If the GOP had coalesced around an establishment figure and ganged up on him in the 2016 primaries, he could have assuaged his ego with the unfairness of it all. But they failed to do that and then there are just a succession of events where he can't look like a looooooooooser - which, ironically, is probably what kept us out of starting a war with Iran or North Korea so at least there's that - culminating with this Deep State Conspiracy to unseat him after he beautifully won the election.

That may be true, but he sure seemed interested in trying to be a dictator.

I don't even think he'd want that - dictators tend to be pretty hands-on in their involvement. No fun in doing all the dirty work to seize power if you can't micromanage it according to your whims.
