Glad the move went alright bro!

I get food stamps in 10 days (because I'm hella poor and not working until the 16th) and I found out that I'll get double the benefits if I spend them at farmers markets. So not only can I eat healthy and local, but I'll actually have more food that way. I'm pretty damn excited about eating healthy!

I figured out that I could loop and play Jesus by Brand New solo. That made me really happy, for some reason.

First day at my new work location in a new city. The people there seem pretty cool, and I can mention bands like Locrian and they know who that is and even like them. I can't express how nice that feels. It was oddly comforting to be doing the exact same job for the exact same company in a new place where I don't really know that many people yet. It was the first time work did something positive for me in a long, long time. Anxieties are quelled, at least for now, and hopefully for a while.

It also helped to get my mind off of the thing that had been really tying me up in knots, and back on track to why I moved in the first place.

It feels so weird to say it....but "thanks, work." I guess. :idk:

Now to watch some pedalandeffects vids and maybe draw or something. OR maybe some headphones noise-time is in order.

Who says I was talking about a place? :p

So far it seems nice. I think I'll like this place a lot once I get over the homesickness a bit, make some friends, and start my grad program. Additional: how does one go about making friends? Is there a handshake, a series of complex dance-moves, does this happen at parties?

Normally I've made new friends through people I know, but I know no one but my roommate. And I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm weird as fuck because my friend the emotionally inept robot helped me move, stayed with us for a couple of days before flying back, and we are the most awkward people in the world when we hang out. Tomorrow's the first day of class for my program, so hopefully there'll be some cool people there. *crosses fingers*

You are going to make so many friends!!!

You can always have your ILF peeps call people in Oregon and ask them to be friends with you.

a series of complex dance-moves sounds like a good solution to most of the worlds problems.

I hope you end up loving the shit out of Oregon. As far as meeting people, just don't care about making a fool of yourself in front of strangers. Try anything (within reason of safety haha).

---

Today was the first time I plugged in my bass since I moved and I just went fluidly from one pattern to the next, building and deconstructing. It was good. As much as I think about having other people to play with, just being able to lose myself like that might be my favorite part about playing music.

But seriously I still need a drummer to play with.
