because of all the YESHHHHHHHHH about Dead Cells, defo going to grab that sharpish.
going to try the grips that look like it will make the system wayyyyyyyyyy more comfy to play in standalone first, as neat as the Pro Controller looks, i'm going to primarily be playing this in bed or on the couch so dunno how convenient it would be to have to put the screen on a stand?
was going to grab Shovel Knight, Celeste, Undertale when the system gets here, i'm super geeked about getting Diablo 3 on a portable and the Super Meat Boy (loved the first two) when it drops, but wanted to check out some other stuff first. any other game/accessory recommendations?
Korg Gadget! I think I like the DS10 and M01 better, but gadget is fun.
Lots of good shooters of you're into that (I've played some, not all): RXN, Ikaruga, Soul Eater, Pulstar, Lightening Force, Last Resort, Psyvariar Delta.
All of the Psikyo shooters are ported I think. Even Zero Wing. Gunbird and Sengoku Blade are fun.
Code of Princess is supposed to be like Gaurdian Heroes but I haven't played it yet.
I mostly just miss the days of good SEGA.
All of those mentioned are future things because I know them except for RXN, Gadget, and Dead Cells.
I only play Dead Cells right now. It's enough for the little time I play (maybe 30 min every other day). Found like 2 more zones and cleared 3 others. I think that's 10 zones I've been too. I haven't cleared 3 I think.

I liked Mario Odyssey and BotW quite a bit....for big name games.

I love Mario games, but I thought Odyssey was probably my least favorite main title game since Smb2. It was just... Too easy.

I agree it's pretty easy for the most part, but some of the stars can get quite tricky, but you're not really required to collect them as it's easy to progress with the simple ones.
I'd still recommend the game myself, but I'd probably play BOTW first.

GF and I 100% it, because we are losers like that. Another problem I had with it was exactly that you got the same "reward" for a really difficult part and the same reward for just stomping your ass on the ground at a random location.

If you ever need another controller, I'd recommend picking up one of the Pro ones. Definitely expensive, but feels more like the standard controllers of late, has a pretty awesome battery life, and the motion control's pretty improved over the Joy-Cons.
Also there will probably be a band called Joy-Cons soon if not already.

grabbed Dead Cells, Celeste, Axiom Verge, Shovel Knight, Hollow Knight, Severed, Undertale and Iron Cast. should be solid for a hinute?
think i'm more interested in Zelda than Mario, but will grab Odysseus eventually.
grabbed one of the Hori D-Pad controllers for side scrolling goodness, if i find myself using the Switch in dock mode will defo grab a Pro controller?
edit - lol. ordered the 8BitDo ProNes Bluetooth controller too. looks too fun.

new question - my grrL is NOT a gamer. she loved Sims back in the day, dunno what else she actually enjoyed. what are some fun games to check out for silly, not hardcore, co-op times?

Me and my GF had fun with Snipperclips. It's a laidback co-op puzzle game where you're two pieces of paper that cut each other into shapes to solve puzzles. It's easy to grasp, cute, fun and chill.

SWITCH LYF!!!! Welcome to the club friendo
Watching me play Breath of the Wild convinced my non-gaming ladypal to buy a Switch herself. It's a bit intimidating for someone whose never done 3D games before. However, since she beat BOTW, she's gotten hooked on Stardew Valley (very SIMs-ish), Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle (turn-based strategy, very fun), Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, Gris, and Undertale. I'd also suggest Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker if she might be into puzzle games!
I'm picking up New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe (wtf fuck that name) Fri, but I've heard it's really great if you're not already saturated with sidescrolling Mario games. Seems like you're into bit-looking platformers, so it'll be similar but with nicer art. I agree with the takes about Odyssey feeling a little overly simplistic at times, though some of the moons were as frustrating as the platformy levels on Mario Sunshine.
Your list sounds pretty rad, I'd also suggest these games (* indicates games that are longer than 10 or so hours):
Splatoon 2*, Okami HD*, Runner3 (rhythm platformer goodness), TOWERFALL* (best multiplayer game on the Switch besides Smash Bros), Smash Bros*, Donut County (v short but fun), Celeste (tough as nails platformer w beautiful story), Yoku's Island Express, Katamari Damacy ReRoll, and Octopath Traveler*
