A really bald middle-aged 14 year old but a 14 year old none the less
I love his anger and disdain.

Yeah Three Sisters is rad, I get caught wanting to use it as an oscillator then I'll add another part to the patch and wanting a second three sisters to use as a filter/mixer. I might just get a second three sisters lol.
Honestly 2 3 sisters sounds pretty great. This is a cool video. Nice modules, including the steep learning curve of the Metasonix
The music at the end is great

Back on modular modular things. What filters are y'all using, I'm having so much fun with Three sisters, its my favorite module, and I want to add another filter. I have a Forbidden Planet and it's a bit lackluster. Something to get me into Hainbach practices but isn't over $500 like every module in his test equipment case?
Grendel Formant. First module I ever bought.

I had two Three Sisters for a while and while it was a very flexible set up, I will say I got kinda bored with it's character on everything (which is nice but not always what I wanted). The other filter I really enjoyed in euro was the Manhattan Analog MA35 (or if you DIY the EAS Miss10). It's an MS-10 filter (half of an MS-10 but switchable lp/hp) with a dirty VCA built in that has a much more aggressive character with it's resonance, sounds great as an oscillator, and does a non-resonant LPG sound pretty well, too. I picked mine up for cheap cuz they're not hype anymore and deep-ish, but it sounds really good.

Kind of boring but I love the Doepfer A103 (TB303 filter clone) --- running FM stuff (Akemie's, etc.) through it broadcasts hyperfun.

I can definitely see the appeal of a second 3 Sisters but I do think it could get a little samey if those are your only filters. Hard not to recommend Doepfer filters, not sexy but they sound wicked. The SEM filter is one of my favorites, would love to try the 303 eventually. Most people love the Wasp filter (and it would be the total opposite of a 3 Sisters) but it wasn’t my cup of tea.

I really liked the Wasp filter when I had it. I honestly think if I were to get back into euro, I'd go 100% Doepfer. I think that'd make an awesome rack, both sonically and aesthetically.

Yes I could have an awful lot of fun with just doepfer. Don't think I'd do the single manufacturer thing but they'd be a good pick if you wanted to

Nice sounds. Does this mean you're selling all the hardware and becoming a computer musician?

I bought a Moffenzeef Swarm which looks like a much more interesting version of a Dwarfcraft Yep. I'm going to replace a Pam's New Workout with the Swarm for a minute and see what happens to my drum patterns. Neat!
Also, don't forget to listen to my new track on SoundCloud:
https://soundcloud.com/david-b-applegate/section-b It is a free jazz rock and roll song improvised on my 42 hp system.

YES. ALL HARDWARE MUST GO. REPLACING KNOBS AND PATCH CABLES AND SLIDERS WITH A KEYBOARD AND MOUUUUUSEEEEEEE.
lol. noooooooo. want Live mostly as the end of recordings of hardware bits? plan to learn the butts out of it over the next couple weeks, use it for some music making bits (i still don't have a hardware polyphonic synth damnit), but mostly to sequence stuff written on modular or hardware synths?
..... have a buddy lending me a Push 2, so WOOT Hardware/Software hybrid setup.
