Hahahaha just kidding. I sometimes use DAW synths for making music too but like you mostly use DAW for recording and occasionally sequencing stuff out of my hardware. Then mixing.

Also, don't forget to listen to my new track on SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/david-b-applegate/section-b It is a free jazz rock and roll song improvised on my 42 hp system.
Cool track. :thumb:

Swarm looks like Ochd and RPG had a (crack)baby. Neat. Demo video is appropriately passive aggressive. I like.

and neat track :)

I made this a bit ago for a funny twitter post, but here is geordi la forge in front of a modular system. Sometimes he says the most ridiculous sci-fi jargon on next generation, and then some days I'll think of an idea for a patch and feel just like him. Such as:

"wait a minute... Data, if we use an oscillating low frequency filter signal path as a clock source, divide the gate outputs and reroute them to trigger functions, we could use those functions to modify the filter signal and create a semi generative locked rhythmic loop--it has to work!"

I am smack dab in the middle of rewatching all of TNG and you bet I read this in Geordi's voice

...oh and related to the topic, I bought a cocoquantus

Reading it in Geordie's voice (not a geordie voice) is crucial. :excellent:

Cocococococonut sounds when you get your cables???
I decided the other day to buy a Pam's when I see one for a good price. Looks very fun for a small setup.

The Moffenzeef Swarm is OK, it does what it says. However, it is in no way a replacement or even contender to take over the role of a Pam's New Workout.

Yeah that looks kinda fun for what it does but can't see it being remotely as good as Pam's especially in a small setup. Different beast.

beauuuuuuutiful.

murph. i am so happy with my studio yarea. i have the 12u that i adore. Pulsar 23 is bananas. Cycles is so hands on and fun and sounds GOOD. TB3 is just silly acidy goodness. Pyramid is a blast to tie all hardware together. and mannnnnnnnnnnn i am instantly in love with the Push 2. watching Loopop's HEY STUPID LIVE ISN'T THAT FUCKING HARD video opened up a lot of Live for me, the Push is a great way to go deep super easy.

like. Learning Lube?

it really makes it feel like using a hardware synth instead of the computer. all the annoyance of point and click and type is washed away. i'm learning what parts are easier to do with the mouse and keys, but that's sitting at about 10% of the interfacing so far.

this is after about an hour of playing with the Push 2, using a pair of Ableton kits and synths, all the patterns and melodies were written on Push -

+ also re: Geordi LaForge. You can tell he's smart because of the equations and chemistry you can see behind his head.

behndy, that's pretty nifty. I like the ruined guitar (?) sound a lot. Ableton is super powerful, I have had it for several years, but only use it to record music, not create or manipulate it. I am consistently baffled by people who are super good at Ableton and salute their genius.

***

I have removed the Moffenzeef Swarm from my little case. I believe I will use it in a 104 hp set-up alongside the Dwarfcraft Yep and see what kind of polyrhythmic / anti-rhythmic bonks I can squeeze out. Maybe some shit like this? Image

Also, thanks to everyone who listened to the track I posted a couple pages back!
