i don't know how this happened. i have never liked V's, always thought they were silly...very very silly. then i played one.
FUK. they are fuking great guitars and sound wonderful.
then i rat rodded that zombie V for that kid.
now my problem is that i've become particular about it. i only like the 58/59 korina version with the pointy headstock and strung through the V tailpiece. the most expensive version, one cannot build nor afford.
such is life.
where am i going with this?...no where actually.
but while i'm here.
............has anyone had experience with the epi korina V's?
or suggest a good copy of the original version?
maybe i should've just pm'd muddy about it....................

They are ok for my memory.. but realy the model epi made before was the shit soundwise, they were black with the 67 look, dude in Faith no more use to use them. The Korinia ones might just need better pickups
Now as far as Korinia "modern" guitars go... Lawsuit Ibanezes! fuck!

ahh yes... the ibanez rocket roll sr. .... i think i'm just being too cheap as they are usually more then i'd like to pay. those epi's can be picked up for around 300....i change pickups in everything anyway.
one went off for 260 last night and i'm kikin mesef for letting it get by me.
my maurader gas is being upstaged by the V.

i believe i've played an Epiphone korina V and liked it. i know i've played an Epiphone korina Explorer that was the dog's bollocks, absolutely wonderful. you know Bob Mould played the Ibanez, yes?

Why don't you pull a flying v out of your head? It works in FLCL.

if your going to switch pickups epi v's are good for the money, i've got a jeff waters v i picked up and i love it, but its not korina.... but it is 24 frets with a phenolic fretboard

and different p/u's (which made the whole difference in the guitar). With epi''s you gotta watch the necks on em sometimes you get a good one sometimes you get one that makes you wonder how they let it off the line even new. I almost had to break the neck on my iommi sg to get it straight but i got er done, it was twisted like a fun house mirror when i got it, but then again epiphone and gibson arent known for making too many 24 fret guitars. I'm gasing on a gibson faded v....... which will get all black hardware, a black custom pickguard and a single iommi bridge p/u and a single 1meg vol pot

girth and sustain for days.

One suggestion on p/u's get ones that have good low end response, i've noticed v's are lighter and sound fuller with a p/u that has good low response otherwise they can sound thin and wimpy.

BIG thank you.

i think the korine epi aren't really korina anyway are they? just a lam over mahogany maybe?
