WHY J-BASS PICKUPS

I agree. but for any problem there is the proper tool!
On the other hand... this gives me a idea... I do have a unfinished gibson bass neck...

Lemme reheat and rebeat a dead horse here and say that anyone that buys a Krist signature bass missed the point.

Re: So close, yet so far.
i always thought it was really strange that Gibson used the standard open book headstock on the RD series. aren't those originally maple bodied guitars?
i don't know that much about them. once again....Gibson in the ugly era....they did silly shite.

That looks pretty awesome to me.
But I had been wondering why it seems that Gibson is so out of touch with consumers/reality. They've released some pretty disgusting abominations lately... Then I saw a picture of Henry J.. And it all made sense..
This looks cool though

Well all it is is a reissue or a RD Artist with JJ pickups. And really if I had to choose I'd get the ESP RD Artist copy cuz it had TB pickups

I love Nirvana but labeling Noveselic "One of Modern Rock's most distinctive players"??
C'mon now....
The RD is badass though! I'm glad to see Gibson falling back on that old design.

to be fair, they've also been putting out some very decent and surprisingly affordable US-made Gibson electrics in the last year or two. the quality of the acoustics dipped, but was least affected by Gibson's problems because the acoustics are made in a separate plant by a separate staff and remained high and now is excellent. and the higher end of the Epiphone line is shockingly good compared to, e.g., the high-end Squiers or the Gretsch Electromatics. and i say this as someone who's been slagging Gibson for YEARS for poor quality, excessive pricing, inaccurate reissues, and general Henry-ness.

I think you're right about that. I see David Wm. SIms play here pretty regularly and he rocks a Memphis brand Jazz Bass copy. I * think * he played that in the Lizard too. He swears by that thing.

Yeah, that's the bass he's played throughout the entirety of TJL. Always sounded great.
