with natural finish, no rhythm circuit, trem, but made in Mexico?
This is on my CL
http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/msg/2818700819.htmlAnd I've been itching for a JM pretty badly, but what's the deal here?
I asked about it and he said if I had more questions, I could search online because he didn't know much about it.

I would personally ask for a serial number so you could verify that it's a Fender at all. It's possible that he bought it from someone who modded it to remove the rhythm circuit.

Probably a refinished blacktop with a proper bridge pickup.

Yeah the second line is "Guitar is in excellent condition, it has been worked on by my luthier recently." I think they were going for a Thurston thing... Looks cool though...

It also looks like it doesn't have a locking trem which is another blacktop trait. If I was betting money, I'd bet this was a blacktop, but also I would bet that this is a pretty nice blacktop jazzy if the work was done well.

Looks nice. I've been considering picking up a cheap Squier Mascis and doing something similar.

Does that colour remind anyone else of freshly sharpened pencils?
