Resistance mixers?...

Post by the raytownian »

I've gotten good results from splitting a signal w/ a stereo output pedal and sending each to seperate fuzz/distortions-- and pitch shifters! (in order to blend them seperatley) and then mixing them back together by sending them into a pedal w/ stereo I/O (In my case, a DD-20)

So, wouldn't I be able to do the same and more w/ a "resistance mixer"? (do those little Boss/DOD mixers accept input both directions or just one?) I'd like to be able to play around with maybe 4 seperate signals, and I could slap together a passive mixer (though I don't really have the parts to include volume knobs), but I'm not sure if that's recommended, or how much it could potentially degrade the input or anything like this.

Thanks.

EDIT: Sorry, I guess this is posted in the wrong sub-forum, eh?

Yup those little DOD thingies work both ways.
I have one, and have used it both as a splitter and as a re-mixer while running effects in parallel.
If you can find one used, (the Bay) it will actually be less expensive than buying the parts and making one.

I haven't noticed any significant degrading of the signal.

same i got the DOD jawn. didnt notice any degrading signal. sounds nice

also one time i plugged an this oscillator thing in one input and then plugged my tbd into the other and the tbd seemed to affect the oscillator in a real cool way...or maybe it was the other way around?? either way it was awesome how they interacted with each other even tho they werent actually connected together.
