My chambered neck-thru build!

I was just talking to a friend (and fellow board member here) the other day, doing an interview for a thesis he's working on... (yeah, on guitar effects!!)...and at one point, an old project of mine came up.

Building a chambered electric guitar! :joy:

My dad is a woodworker, and when I was in college, we combined my guitar knowledge with his woodworking knowledge and made a guitar. I've shared it in other places before, but it's been a while, so I thought I'd post some of the project pics here! :)

chambering fun! Notice the little structural supports :)

Finishing! All nitro. Clear coats followed by tinted amber.

Thanks guys! :)

It's got a pretty cool sound, a unique resonance that's combined with the unusual pickups (tv jones pu and the firebird neck pu)...kind of resonant and grindy at the same time.
I'll get some new strings on it and record a video using some FuzzHugger pedals. :)

Sometime I want to try some different pickups, maybe something soapbar, since that's what I'm at home on.

That is purty sweet... I've been thinking that I'd like to try a chambered bass...

Also, I'm surprised that no-one else has said this, but when I first read the thread title, my immediate reaction was: OhMahGawd, a Fuzzhugger guitar? DO WANT!!!! :animal: :blahblah: :animal:

Oh absolutely - in the time it took me to click on the thread, I was already imagining a nautically themed guitar with an inbuilt AB Synth Fuzz!
