...i'm a fan. it was certainly not as trashy as the last NIN record, but it wasn't exactly a straight ahead rock tone either. a good balance that allowed him to cover the fairly wide sonic territory of the show, weakest point (of his tone, not the show) being the with teeth stuff, but that might just be because i loved aaron north's playing for that material.

my fave was definitely the jazzmaster tone from 'in this twilight.' the dano-baritone stuff was pretty sweet too, especially in the "ghosts" material - clean, with trem, it was almost like listening to angelo badalamenti.

anyone have any clue what he's using this tour? only thing visible from stage is the standard marshall cabinet stage furniture.

It oculd be antything. I know they're using some sort of protools live software and a lot of fancy controls. For all we know it oculd be a POD. I know aaron North had a twin reverb (woot) mic'd backstage, and the cabinet was pretty much stage monitor. Oh, and feedback machine :)

finck is definitely not as messy and wild as north is/was. it's interesting to note that no instruments were smashed last night either. i guess robin just likes his guitars too much. :)

I always wanted to know what the headless Marshall was for.
