Patch cables...

I need some. I'd like them to be cheap, but sound good. I'm not spending $15 a piece on them.
A lot of people have those nifty looking multi-colored ones. What are those? Those would be helpful for when/if I make that pedalboard patchbay I've been meaning to make...
I might just buy some cable and ends and make my own if I don't find something I dig.
I love you.

Tough one... I have a friend who swears by super-fancy Monster Cables... but it seems that every time we play together, one of his crap out, while my cheapy no-names last almost forever...

Word. I had some Planet Waves cables that all started crapping out on me.
I eventually just made some new cables with Canare cable and Neutrik ends. I made some smaller cables for my pedals, but if I let my pedal chain get long, I run out. And I'm out of ends anyways.
While on the subject, Neutrik's silent plug is absolutely godly.
ANYWAYS... it just seems like it's so much work. But if I do the patch bay idea, my signal will be running through A LOT of cable, so I really would like it to be high quality.
I found these:
http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/ ... sku=330113http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/ ... sku=330488But that's all I can come up with that's not just way too expensive.
I could make them for barely $8 a piece, and that's if I use the really nice Neutrik X-Series ends. The gold ones. And I wouldn't, because they're too big. So, it would be $5-ish a piece, probably.
I guess if I sucked it up and made them, I'd get better cables, and for cheaper...

Seems like that's often the case with a lot of projects. I say if you gots the skillz, may as well use 'em...
... of course, I also always bitch and moan when I have to put in the time on those sorts of projects, but it's usually worth it in the end...

Plus, I could use 3.mm jacks and plugs and make a totally pedalboard friendly patchbay! ...cause I really hate moving pedals around, ya know?
Now to find the the lowest capacitance cable
< 4mm!
...that comes in lots of nifty colors.

I've got some from one of those crappy 6 patch cable pack GC sells,
But most of mine I just went a head and made. that way I have the lengths I want. Only need 3” need 18” what ever. Cleans up routing, well as much as possible.

I did that. It was great at first...
Then it ended up just being an assortment of random lengths... because I moved stuff around. >.<

i use george L's and they've never crapped out on me in 7 years, but some people seem to dislike them for whatever reason.

I have no problem with George Ls. They're just more expensive than I wanna pay for even a pre-made cable (IIRC, the cable is about $1 a foot, then you buy the ends... but I haven't looked lately). And, I don't really like solderless cables. But I'm picky.
I don't even really like cables with molded ends, but if they're cheap and still sound good... hey, why not?

I buy the cheap ones at radio shack/on ebay... They're good enough for me, anyways!
