Yup, I need a pedal board, but nothing fancy... So, I've decided I want to try to make one on a cookie sheet. Will this introduce any extraneous noise or grounding issues? I'm under the impression that it shouldn't, as I've played on plenty of demo boards in shops that were metal (Boss, Digitech, EHX, Dano)... Anyone have any thoughts on this.

Oh, the reasons I'm wanting to use the cookie sheet are- light, thin, durable.

Could be problematic if you want to clean up the wires and route them somewhere...

I just bought an Ikea gorm shelf for $5...bit of paint and some velcro = cheap pedal board

I was thinking of going with one of the Gorms as well, but I'd have to drive an hour and a half to the nearest Ikea.
I'm not too worried about routing my cables underneath the board or anything, as I plan on decorating with fake roses after I have everything attached and I want the pedals fairly close to each other.

The two board I've had that were particle board only lasted about a month each. The ply-wood one I had was a bit too thick for me. I need my pedals as close to the ground as possible.

Wth the cookie sheet thing, I may coat it with something before applying the velcro, just in case.

You could get an old brief case from a yard sale, then all you've got to do to pack up is collect the cables and close it up.

Nice... I've thought about the Gorm shelf as well. I'm thinking I'm gonna use the second shelf of my lack coffee table. I don't know if drilling holes will hurt it though.

I'm wanting to do a 2 tier one, so I can store my nanoverb under the shelf. I MAY end up going with the Gorm though. They also have these light weight solid pine shelves that are deep enough for a pedal board, and they're dirt cheap.

All the briefcases I've come across aren't wide enough and I only want one row of pedals (at the moment, anyway...)
I might get a suitcase to put the board in. Though, that'd be kind of bulky.

That's pretty resourceful. The only thing I'd worry about is the thing slipping all over the place when you stomp on it. Rubber feet on the bottom maybe?

Yep. I'm hoping I can find some that are more than 1" square, so I don't have to buy too many.

Look into textured plastic/nylon cutting boards. Not terribly expensive, but not as cheap as the IKEA shelf. Takes velcro, screws, feet, etc well. (I'd recommend two screw-in furniture rubber-feet on the front corners of the board)

I'll definitely look into it. I think I need it to be at least 17" wide...
