Well Ive been looking for a band or just someone to collaborate with for a while and am just sick and tired carrying all my precious gear around town just for some morons that are wasting my time.
I definitely wont use it for good tone but for practicality I need a pod or something like it. I heard good things about the Boss Me-20. Has anyone any good suggestions. Pleez dont try and flame. Yo will lose and if youve ever been looking for a good band and play with as many effects as I do. You will know its not fun carrying everything around like some traveling circus. Another thing is the city I live in is PACKED and I use public transportation for everything.

whaaaaaaaaaaaat? I don't think anyone on here is going to (maliciously/intentionally) flame anyone...
Anyway, look at the Korg AX-series. Very affordable, and quite good for a multi, IMO.
I have an AX3G, and while it doesn't have a built-in exp. pedal, and it's not so easy to tweak stuff on the fly, it's very good for something compact and basic, and has a couple interesting, non-standard effects.
It's plastic, but it's rugged, and you could toss it like a frisbee if you wanted (lightweight)! Just use the proper adapter if you don't use batteries because this unit makes all kinds of electronic noise with other adapters (like the 1Spot).
I thin the AX55G is the same as mine, but w. built-in exp. pedal...

man... that must suck to have to use public transport with all your gear, to meet up with "strangers" to jam. i've been in the same boat without having to use public transport and it really sucks. i ended up down sizing as well (just started using 4 pedals), until i met some musical peers. i found that 4 was enough being that i'm just auditioning for musical criminals. a wha, 2 fuzz's, and a delay worked for me but what you're doing makes a lot of sense.
....i've never seen anyone flame on these boards..it just doesn't happen and it's why we're all here.

it's a love thang.

I'd check out the line 6 M13. I've used it and it's pretty user friendly. The sounds are as good as those big boxes. And you've got better looper. I'd still plan on bringing some dirt with you. If your familiar with line 6, you'll know it's not their forte. I have gotten some decent tones from the tubescreamer and tube driver model. But most everything thing else sounds pretty stale. So maybe the m13 and the WMD Geiger Counter? I think that's supposed to cover most everything (including THE insane sounds).

Yeah public transportation. Love hate thing. I love not having a car and worrying about speeding, gas, pigs blah blah. But now Im downsizing everything. 1x10's, small pedal board, gig bags.....
the worst part of all is I cant find a good job. I have mastered the one meal a day routine though. I have been looking at all these multi effects and honestly I may have to bite the bullet. Unless! I have an old friend with a LExicon processor that he hated but I liked so Ill have to see about lexicon as well.

I don't intend this as pure spam so please don't take it that way. What I have to say would be the same whether or not I was selling anything. I have a Boss GT-3 in the spam thread and here's what I think about it:
I used a Boss GT-3 for years and was pretty happy with the results. In fact, two of my favorite bands still gig with GT-3s. These days, it's probably pretty common, but I think at the time the GT-3 came out, it was unique in that it allowed you to patch in your external dirt pedal(s) of choice and insert them anywhere in the signal chain. The internal dirt was analog (which BOSS made no small deal out of), and like many multi-effects for dirt, some sounded like garbage, some sounded ok, and with tweaking, some sounded good.
But it's kind of big, and it's kind of heavy (metal chassis, etc.). Like all multi-effects of that era, if you spend the time to tweak around with it, it can sound really cool. I'd guess that since tweaking has long been a complaint of multi-effects, the more current products may be more of the plug & play variety.
I do second what someone else said about just putting together a minimal rig for these test dates. But for a decent and cheap used multi effects, I am a big fan of the older Boss GT series. I thought they were better than the Digitech RP series that was the main competition at the time. And I say that whether or not you want mine. Looking back, it was a good choice for me.
What amp are you using?

Well the Digitech Rp I have fooled around with alot. A close friend had one in highschool and I use to go to his house like every other day.
I still cringe just at the thought of it. He swore it had good sounds. I tried o I tried but It just did not. And we tried every guitar and amp we could. I used to joke around saying its best mode is the bypass mode.

Just to add to the multi-effects jokes. I was at band practice and our friend came in and said "you know my friend has a digital pedal that does what all of those pedals can do." This irked me but then he said "but then again whenever he plays it all I hear are one's and zero's."

I've got a Digitech BP200, It sounds good by itself with earphones, but not so good into an amp.
With the amp sims and DI it is handy for recording late night ideas without bothering the neighbors.
Wouldn't want to have to gig with it though.
Now if you could find one of those old '80s Ibanez TS-808 or TS-9 era multis you could gig with it. Wouldn't cost much more than your entire rig and car these days.
