I have Maschine but no controller. I'm thinking of getting a used Mk1 controller since they go for $100-150. I'm wondering if it is worth it to get the Mk1 or get the Mk2. Anyone have experience with the MK1 or both?

i like the MK1 because it has separate knobs for tempo, swing ,etc. whereas the mkII has the 1 master knob.

i think the main difference besides construction is the RGB pads. if u think u will utilize that, then it might be worth it. if not save some cash and get the MK1

Doc nailed it... the biggest difference with the Mk2 was the rollout of the 2.0 software, which is leaps and bounds better than 1.x. The Mk1 controller is great...

I have the MKI running v2 software and yep, it's a VAST improvement. Old version was clunky, lots o shit ironed out with the new one.

I still run into issues with it sometimes, but I think that's more due to user error, to be honest

only thing i don't like about it is the editing window for writing beats. all kinds of fiddly and tiny. and the undo function is a BITCH. i have accidentally erased pieces in the DAW hitting control z and had to step back to old versions of the file.
