These brothers are going to be built in a similar housing to my other microphones, but with XLR jacks. These will be a higher cost build aiming for sound primarily. Both are +48v, phantom powered.

Image
The little fighter is the Blood Spurt. It will be a smaller bodied large sounding condenser mic. A clean cheaper version of it's bigger brother.

Image
The Blood Sport is the bigger beast. Fully powered by +48v, this monster will go from clean, to burning tube style saturation. Ever wanted distortion on your mic without messing with loads of cables and having to settle for a noisy signal path. Here's your solution. One XLR, straight to the board or your interface. Sonic destruction has never been easier. Distortion is fully bypassable.

Coming soon.

Happy with these. Final will be shorter, but I had this enclosure semi ready. There's filling inside to act as shock absorption and tame the resonance, the smaller enclosure should allow a bit more proximity effect should you desire.

I can also make these long and resonant if someone requests it, it does add an interesting tonality, but you will lose low end.

Now available at $180 shipped us for ILF. $190 to Europe and South America, and $200 beyond.

Shrunk these fellas down to about 4.25 inches. Improved internal shockmount system, and better isolation.

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0yjlz9joanzd ... sjEua?dl=0 Some quicky piano clips in stereo. No EQ, compression, or any other effects. Brought up the level. Recorded through an SSL C200 at about 18dB of gain, meaning these mics are hot. They should handle up to 120dB.

Posted in the corazon thread but figured this was relevant here too

They actually massively do. alter the sound for the better. I've been messing around a ton with those mics and honestly enclosure changes seem to make the biggest impact. I've gone through close to a dozen little enclosure tweaks working towards this v3.

And they are basically vents. Without them, all the air behind the capsule just acts like a springy dampener on the capsule. Those little holes give it more headroom and balance out the frequency spectrum.

Have some graphs of a close miced Fender Twin Reverb
No Vents-Blue Vented-Yellow EQ to match Vented to not. -White They have identical circuits

Notice how the blue line always slopes down making it kind of muffled.

AKG 414-Blue Vented-Yellow EQ to match Vented to 414.-White They have identical circuits

See how the bulk of both the 414 and The Blood Spurt have a fairly flat line.

The 414 has more emphasis around 100 hz and cuts sub bass like around 80. It Also has more emphasis around 6k. And a handy little spike at 7k where a lot of sibilance is.
