Does your country celebrate it? Do you celebrate? If you do things, what are you planning on doing? Given the mask-required nature of COVID and how mask-friendly Halloween is, it seems like there’s a lot of opportunity to safely do things this year?

So far I’ve been playing survival horror games, Symphony of the Night, Area 51, and House of the Dead II. I’ve also been watching X-Files episodes I don’t remember and horror movies when I have the time. On halloween, my wife and I are having a friend over to play a VHS version of Clue and watch scary movies.

As a secret old goth I exist in a semi-permanent state of Halloween, which is good because Old England does not make nearly as big a deal out of it as New England to my eternal personal detriment.

CURRENTLY ON THE COFFEE TABLE:
Haunted Air (curated by Ossian Brown of Coil & Cyclobe, Current 93, et. al.)

Please don't help make this country MORE into halloween. Don't need it.

But you don't like pumpkins? Heathen. I've been eating at least one a week for a couple of months.

It's not called a jack-o-lantern for nothing.

Well I hate fun and festivities, so I think I know.

To be clear I am talking about eating actual pumpkins not pumpkin flavoured nonsense.

There's a lot of different kinds! And many are super delicious.

In Korea you can find some Halloween things. It’s popular as a young-people-drinking holiday. This year I’ve seen some trick-or-treat things. So, I have hope that it’s catching on here.

I also just bought some pumpkins online. Hopefully we’ll actually get to make some jack-o-lanterns. I’m not sure what’ll get delivered. The pumpkin flavored nonsense is nowhere to be found here. At Starbucks the Pumpkin Spice Latte is actually pumpkin flavored, and it’s awful. I miss the pumpkin flavored nonsense

Last year when I was in Ireland I learned that halloween is an adopted irish tradition. The jack-o-lantern thing comes from some irish folktale about some lad named jack who in his dealings with the devil has to roam the earth with a lantern made out of a pumpkin or some shit.

So there is simply no way it will be adopted in to UK culture
