who here can touch their toes?

given the preposterous amount of flexibility requited for auto-fellatio and the American tendency towards morbid obesity, i thought this was a more realistic question.
mein answort: yes, though i'll be 64 on Wednesday and am at least 10 pounds over my target weight. honestly, i'm kind of surprised. must have been the yoga i dabbled in during the 1990s.

I can touch my toes and even fancifully kick above my head, but probably couldn't go for a jog without feeling like dying.

you and me both. one big reason i haven't resumed the bicycling which was such a large part of my life in the 90s, other than the weather and the certainty that the inevitable falls would leave me paralyzed on the ground for 10 minutes before i could even move, is knowing that getting back into any kind of shape would involve several weeks of turning blue every time i pedaled the last block uphill to home.

Easily. Last year I pushed hard to get in shape. I weighed 200 lbs at the beginning of the year and 153 by the end of the year. This year I've had a bit of a backslide and put 15 lbs back on, but now I'm getting back into a fitness frame of mind, i.e. I've started working out regularly again and eating better. My target weight is 140 lbs.
I also practiced jujitsu throughout 2019, and it was awesome fun. Being able to practice again is just one more reason I want the pandemic to end ASAP.

Yeah, I'm good with my toes, but I have trained karate most of my life (with a bit of a um, decade plus break in there) so I bloody well should be able to touch my toes. Good on ya Dubs.

Normally my hamstrings are as tight as Billy Cobham if I don't exercise so at the moment, no. If I'm back on the yoga grind or otherwise stretching I can usually get there after a couple of months though.

sure can. Despite not being that old I couldn't for years but I have been working on my flexibility for the past year or so (very slowly)

Just checked: yes
but I used to be able to put my palm flat on the floor
so I'd prefer to get that back
Guess I'll have to call the yoga to come back to me
or go about chasing it
still doing bits of stretching/exercise, but apparently NOT ENOUGH

yeah, i rally need to get on this shit while i still can. i'm doing astonishingly well health-wise for someone my age who's never really learned to take care of himself--i've never had a major surgery or completely broken a bone though i cracked a couple--but i can feel stuff starting to stiffen up and my muscles getting weaker. there's some camping/backpacking stuff that's been a monkey on my back for 30 years, and if i don't go in the next couple or three years i never will.

This is just nice regardless of you touching your toes.
https://github.com/aaronmgriffin/phrakt ... tching.txt It's the old git hub for molding mobility. Vidret probably knows it. Do it in conjunction with starting stretching. It's just good for every beginner - advanced.
EDIT: Saved to the archive...
http://archive.is/kLTwk I really need to get on this even though I can touch my toes and put my palms flat on the ground. Yappa Dappa Doo a deepy dappa.
