Once again after cruising
the webz the instatwitbook
Everyone vigorously posting
Posting genre specificness
That alt jazzstangjagmaster
This metalz pointy thang
That tubescreamer
in a bloozlawyer hat
What you think on that?
Why no jagstang deathshredsters?
Why no ironbirds strumming mumblecore from K records?
Did that geetar come with that meme shirt?
That lespaul wielding influencer in a skirt
Did you buy one too?
So that your idols
Matches with you?

I’ve seen a YT of someone doing EVH divebombs and shredder stuff on a Jagstang.

That’s good to hear
Fore to stay viable
I think things must change
Even how we look at gearmige
Covid caused much harm
But the deathing had started
The scenes are failing
The two polarized camps
The chopsmosters
And the idiot savants
They have dead ended
A new way must be forged

My guitar rig is extremely boomer-friendly so I try to make up for it by avoiding the pentatonic minor scale whenever possible.

a shredder jagstang would be an almost acceptable jagstang. Kahler? No neck pickup (hole still there)? Super distortion in the bridge? Sign me the fuck up!
I think there are way too few modded offsets these days. People seem to move away from accepting it even. Are jazzblasters dying?

Dude shredding the Jagstang was using the stock vibrato and it was working better by far than the normal reputation for that style, better than many “stays in tune nearly as well as a Floyd” options for Strats.
There’s an almost perverse purist vibe to a lot of offset fans given how these guitars became the thing for the genres they’re into. Reversible mods seem to be the outer limit for many. Maybe a bit more wiggle in partscasters and niche builders like Waterslide, and of course builders like Bilt and Deimel that are expanding on that vocabulary. At the same time, I dunno, a Kahler seems to go with a Jag or JM like peanut butter goes with carp.

When was he doing those, early 80s? Besides the scale, it’s almost a precursor to the “Dinky” or similarly downsized Super Strat thing. And he was doing modified Strats after those and before the Parkers.
