I love that there's a TGP screenshot in there. It's so on brand.

Wow, 68 pages. :whoa:

"John Does 1-10" would make a great band name. :snax:

Tasty. Some of the writing in that is delightfully ridiculous.

However, I do wish we'd put a 2,000% tariff on Behringer to keep that crap in China.

I wonder if BF will live to see his settlement. Uli is a proper kunt, so I could see him ignoring legal counsel and not settling. I imagine it would take 10-15 years with all the appeals, though, for BF to get a dime.

Uli flagrantly steals a lot of trade dress. I’m persuaded by the complaint that this one was really over the top. I’ll bet he thought he could get away with it given he was ripping off a tiny company unlikely to lawyer up.

I'm pretty sure he hasn't "made bank". He has horrible business sense. :zen:

it just seems like he's trying to close the barn door after an entire industry got out of the barn. how many lime green kinda-Tube-Screamers have there been? how many Ram's Head Muffs with the actual ram's head on? how many not-a-Rats in flat black boxes?

I think the issue here is that they're calling it a "Centaur" and it has the same stupid centaur art. :idk:

Also, the behringer video was incredibly deceptive. It makes me wonder if the lawsuit will increase the sales of the behringer version because it will be altered and have an after market value. Not a fan of any of this.

i actually bothered to read through that entire filing--i used to work in a law library and got somewhat familiar with the form--and it would be a lot easier to take if:

1. Finnegan didn't blow himself up as some kind of super-savant. he designed a pedal some people like, he didn't cure cancer or something.
2. random postings on message boards actually constituted evidence of anything other than that most posters are uninformed.
3. $2 million per infringement? fuck off.

Isn’t the Klon like a modded Distortion + or a rat anyway?

i honestly don't know...i never found it interesting enough to investigate. back in those days there were several "transparent overdrives" competing for that spot that all seemed kind of blah to me. not weak, just meh. never cared about the Tim/Timmy either.

If someone unironically used the sentence "This is like the secret sauce for the creamy lead tones" in a video knocking off my creation I would absolutely be seeking $2 million in statutory damages. :idk:
